| Well its MINUS 30 here. We shuffle in and shuffle out. Too cold to even consider riding. :(
If it was above zero and I felt like riding I'd have on Under Armour, Sweatpants, sweatshirt, Carhartts and a hat and a scarf and bootwarmers in my boots and by the time I put all that on Id feel like saying screw it.  |

Location: GODS country | I don't ride if its below 25/30 degrees! Under Armor is a must, coveralls, muck boots, sweatshirt, heavy coat, hat/scarf and these awesome thermal heat gloves I just got!  |

Location: Cap'n Joan Rotgut.....alberta | My riding has been kyboshed...been hitting the-40s. ...but when its gets balmy and back to -18 i ride in ski pants insulated rubber boots and a 3 in 1 neck warmer with a touque and lined leather gloves. .....and 2 jackets..i like to layer...lol...m

Location: Canada | I ride till -23 and wear sweats, insulated rubber boots, carharts one piece, Milwaukee heated sweater, neck warmer a toque and mittens.
I pray I never fall off wearing all that gear because I'm not sure if I'd ever get back up. |

Location: Running my kids somewhere. | Once it hits 0 I don't ride. I don't have an indoor so if there no ice and a snow cover and above 0...the layers go on.
2 pair of socks (one of them wool or Alpaca) 2 pairs of pants, 2-3 shirts, hat, layered gloves, boots and water proof insulated coveralls.
Now try to get on a horse like this! LOL |

Location: west of East Texas | RocketPilot and I are on the same page. Except I'm still dressed like what y'all are describing. I love living in central Texas! If I ever do dare to ride out in the cold.... two pair of socks, fleece line leggings, jeans, under armor type shirt, fleece pullover shirt, neck gater or scarf, and insulated coveralls over all of that. Then I put on my coat. :) I top it off with my rabbit fur lined Elmer Fudd hat over a cap (for the brim). I have some light weight fleece gloves because I'm not comfortable with thicker gloves when I'm riding. I've usually worked up a pretty good body temp by the time I get all that on. |

| I don't ride much if we get in the teens and unless I haul to an arena my horses are pretty off for the winter. I usually have long johns, coat, gloves and maybe a hat, I hate riding in gloves so it has to be really cold to use them. We got a foot of snow last night and it was about 15 our today my daughter wanted some pictures so she jumped on one of her horses and rode. She kills me with her ability to not freeze just jeans , sweatshirt and a light leather jacket, her gloves are the half gloves. It is suppose to be about 20 below tomorrow and closer to 35 -40 below with wind chill so we won't be riding for a bit. |

Location: 100 miles from Nowhere, AR | I don't ride below freezing because here in the south you can do that and still keep one legged up. Below 50, I'm in thermal undies, sweats or pj pants, down coat, hat, and fleece lined English boots. I can't stand riding in gloves so I keep hand warmers in my pockets when it's really cold and alternate hands.
I went and tried a horse in 12 degree weather in KS once. The owner loaned me a set of coveralls and I thought we were going to need a chain hoist to get me on that 16 hand sucker. LMAO |

| Some of y'all just crack me up....except that my husband is juts like you. When I can bear to put on a tee shirt (from about 58 to 63 degrees, he has his Union suit, on along with a hooded sweat shirt and vest....maybe even a Carhart jacket. It was 5 to 10 degrees before wind chill and I spent 7 hours outside with the farrier, general chores and doing some winterizing before the really cold, sub zero crap gets here. I put on some Under Armour type bottoms, a long john type shirt, hooded sweat shirt, a flannel shirt with hood, one pair of socks, a pair of Muck boots. ear warmers and chore gloves. then I had to run out the door because I couldn't stand to be inside!. My hands and feet got a little cold once or twice but got them warmed back up. We were IN the barn, out of the wind, so there is that.
I have a heavy pair of insulated bibs that "may" see more use this winter with all the sub zero temps in our future, but cannot see those AND Under Armour.
All that being said, I have become a fair weather rider..... just cannot take the wind anymore. And fighting with stiff leather is not very inspiring either. Maybe I will go back to my youth continue riding bareback more....had started partly to improve my balance and confidence in my advancing years and partly because it just easier and I have found myself more likely to jump on one with no muss, no fuss, lol. It IS a lot warmer and if I use a hack I don't have to worry about cold bits! Sigh, then there is the wind.........
edoted to add: ....And jeans.....I did wear some jeans.....

Location: Oklahoma | I wear a base layer (under armor/cuddleduds/long johns), then a hoodie & jeans or sweats, then my bibs and jacket. I also have a stocking cap and gloves.
I can do most anything in this setup, and as long as I am moving I don't get cold. |

Location: North Dakota | I ride no matter the temp, in ND sometimes you don't have a choice when your horse needs to stay in shape. All our horses are used to the below zero temps. I wear long johns, sweat pants(so much better than jeans), insulated muck boots, sweat shirt and a north face jacket. Fleece neck warmer, hat, and fleece lined deer skin gloves. I am outside for hours at a time and always stay warm. I can not wear coveralls or bibs as I can't move in them so I stick to less bulk and just keep moving! :) |

Location: Montgomery TX | My fiance and I have discovered heated jackets and pant liners for cold outdoor activities. 
Love them!! And they have gloves also, but don't have any yet.... Probably not good for riding cuz they look a little bulky. |
