BARRELHORSE USA - 2016-12-22 6:45 AM
Hello Hello; As a paint horse owner you know how difficult it is to find a sire
that can dominate the genes of the regular paint bloodlines to keep from
having a flashback to the past.
When you are looking to add speed and agility one must research what heavy
duty bloodlines have been successful crossovers on paint bred mares.
Here are two very successful full brothers to take a really hard look at :
SIRE:
PYC PAINTED WAGON .. proven paint producing sire
DAM:
SIRE: SF ROYAL QUICK FLASH AQHA
AND: ..ROYAL QUICK FLASH APHA
(when he was born AQHA and APHA rules were ... double registered
required a name for AQHA and one for APHA
)
As you can see he is a full blooded AQHA CROP OUT but has the genes
to be the most prolific sires of paint runners that is alive today and
stands at Steele Farms, Ft. Gibson Okla
2nd dams sire:
Is the famous sire TEXAS HERO another dominate sire in the APHA
racing books ...
PAINTED TURNPIKE
(breeding farm yet to be determined
)
is the first paint Triple Crown winner in 2015 and ran
his derby year in 2016 ... LTE: $229,000 which is tremendous
for a racing paint ... he is a black bay paint bred solid colored paint ..
GITTER DUN TURNPIKE
LTE: < $100.000 Tobiano stallion
stud farm:

My first choice on these two brothers would be PAINTED TURNPIKE ..
your mare has a soggy pedigree and needs all the help she can get
to produce enough barrel speed to be competitive today ..
My 2nd sire for your mare would be the double registered SF ROYAL QUICK
FLASH // ROYAL QUICK FLASH .... HE has been in the top 3 paint sires
every year since he entered stud duty .. and produces mostly solid bred paints.
He stands for $1000 ...
You have already researched my last choice CRM LIVEWIRE ..
only time will tell if he has the gene structure to dominate the
old paint lines ..
So... believe my input that breeding speed into a paint horse requires
a stout set of genes and a paint mare owner can't just flip the pages
of a stallion list and pick one to crossover on their mare ...
breeding paints is a tricky headache ... lol
and as you have found ... finding information on anything from the APHA
is almost impossible ... they are so busy with WP and HALTER horses
and printing stupid magazines to take care of their horse business ..
APHA is in serious management and financial trouble ...
as of this year they dumped keeping track of racing paint records to
SPEEDHORSE MAGAZINE and they are doing the best they can with
the filtered and minimum data they get from APHA .... GRRRRRRR
Warning ... as a breeder of barrel horses ... don't get crazy wanting
a colored foal ... breed to the best even if he is a solid bred paint..
you are now looking for the best quality foal and not for color ...
either way ... you only have a 50-50 chance of getting color even
if every horse in the foals pedigree was a colored registry paint!!
Call Nolan Pevehouse in Webbers Falls Okla to find the stud farm
PAINTED TURNPIKE will be standing at and the stud fee on both
of his stallions ... GITTER DUN TURNPIKE .. that is if you are
interested in either stallion ..
GOOD LUCK AND MERRY CHRISTMAS ..
