| Go to any RV supply place and buysome RV roof sealant. It comes in a paint can type size. Wait for a warm sunny day and completely coat the roof, around AC, vents etc. If you suspect a specific area thats leaking I have used the spray can rubber seal. That you can find at hardware stores like Home depot etc... |

Location: Windoming | Make sure your air conditioner isn't loose. That is where many trailers start leaking, mine included. Our air conditioner ended up falling off! |

| I've had someone say to use the Flex Seal they are advertising on tv now. It's leaking in a cabinet corner by the wall. I'm assuming the seam on the edge of the roof is leaking. I have already resealed it once, year before last. Apparently I didn't use the right thing. |

| I scraped and cleaned every inch of if off year before last. then put a tape down and put a cool seal for aluminum roofs on it. it lasted about a year. Someone told me that I need something that is rubbery and flexes since the trailer is moving down the road. Thanks for all your replies!

Silicone will not permanently affix itself metal to metal ...
look at a silicone sealer as a temporary plug ...
AND FOR GOD'S SAKE AND YOUR TRAILER'S SAKE
DO NOT PAINT THE ENTIRE ROOF....
CREATES THE WORST FUTURE MESS YOU CAN IMAGINE ....
Stripe the seams that may be the cause of the leak especially 3 ft in front
of where the leak appears inside the trailer. Water can flow and
accumulate in the weirdest places from somewhere else ...
Do it neatly by using the blue tape used in painting interior rooms in a house
on both sides of the seam with a 2 inch gap ..
then paint you a nice strip on the seam working a light coat on at a time ..
While 2nd coat is still wet ... pull the blue tape off to leave a nice running
stripe down the seam.
If there is a gap in the seam and/or UNDER your air conditioner
or window leaks .... butyl rubber products are terrific to stop a leak.

Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | I agree check your air conditioner first befor you start doing anything else, I had a leak for awhile could not find the spot that water could be coming from then one day I checked my air con and it was super loose so tighten up the screws and no more leaks.. |

| SORRY FOR THE LENGTH:
As everyone has said check the AC first because there are only 4 bolts that hold your AC on & it's usually the culprit because a leak from there can travel down & land anywhere & make it look like the leak is somewhere else. very inportant if it is loose or if pulled up to check you really should replace the seal, they are inexpensive to replace. When replacing the seal you will need to lay a bead of waterproof flexible sealant then put the seal down then AC & tighten bolts evenly ( make sure to scrape the old off before putting on the new). Actually Very easy to do. Our AC units take a lot of abuse with weather & vibration going down the road. |

| I tried the flex sealant in the can that's advertised on TV on a trailer. Never again, ended up costly in the end. I couldn't get it on thick enough but used ALOT of cans trying & still didn't work. We went to Lowes/Home depot for A Flexible paint on roofing sealant. It will come in a gallon can to brush on & in a few different colors. |

what do you suggest to use when painting the strip on the seam?
I wanted to double check the numbers I use ... so here they are ..
all 3 of these are flexible ...
DICOR 501 leveling//502 non-leveling .... for flat surfaces
DICOR 551 no sag for vertical surfaces
BONE TOOL plastic to remove any old beading
and a plastic ice scraper for patches ...
Plastic tools should not scratch or damage your aluminum ..
metal tools will gouge a hole in it ..
be careful anyway ... lol
AC units come with a little sticky picture frame rubber boot under the edges
that seals the AC to the top of the trailer ..
this gets old and unstuck with time ...
replace .. part runs around 20$$ .. and bead some Dicor around the edges
before screwing it back in place ... you want the Dicor to squish out from
under the AC unit ... do the screw heads too ..
GOOD LUCK ... pick a warm sunny day to do it .. above 40* ... lol

| My husband resealed my entire trailer last year. Scraped all old sealer off and used an aluminum silicone from Lowe's. Don't use plain silicone. |

And why would you say that? GE 100% silicone Adhesive will sick to any service. There are many products that can do this job but that most important thing is preparation. With out a clean and dry surface almost all products will fall. What ever product you use it should be UV protected. 3M silicone body sealant IMO would be excellent for this. |

you may want to call every trailer manufacture in the country and tell them that then.
