Location: Oklahoma | Besides money of course! What prizes do you like to win at races/series? What's the best thing you've ever won? I am working on my yearly summer series and deciding over the next few months what to do for awards. My biggest prize is $500 cash for all around, and I usually give cash for divisional point winners also. |

Location: Southeast Louisiana | I won a saddle pal once. I love it and use it all the time! (It's a little metal saddle hanger that you can use at shows and stuff to hang your saddle on your stall.) I have a folding metal step stool that I have used for everything from the house to the barn. A container of treats for my horse that did the winning for me. :) I saw that they're making stall signs this year. With the owner's name and cell number for your stall at shows. I've seen personalized prizes, if that's the right terminology. In other words, if you have a member who you know really wants or needs some piece of equipment. Making that one of their prizes is nice. |

I can tell you one of the more frustrating things I saw people win was a $500 gift certificate as the year end division awards for a Double J trophy saddle. Nice gesture, but there was a big stink made at the end from the people who didn't want the gift certificate as they had no cash to put towards the rest of the payment for said saddle. I can agree with the recieving end on that one too. |

| Honestly - cash. Or gift certificates to local tack shops, NRS World, Teskys, etc. I don't need another cheap hay bag and I don't use half the supplements they give away.
I honestly like the UBRA model of running for points and ending up with "cash" to get what you want from their store. They have a pretty decent selection. |

Location: Cocoa, Florida | I actually like the jackets the best, sounds funny coming from a Floridian but this past year I won a trophy rain jacket, something I will use a LOT down here! My next favorite prize was my trophy breast collar, it's got more sentimental value then one I would buy. |

Location: The best kept secret in TX | Our local 4-H program gave out Feed buckets with brushes, combs, superbands, lasersheen, and a whole lot of other grooming things. The brushes were engraved with the kids names and the 4-H symbol. They loved them. They also gave away fleece monogramed coolers, winter blankets, and sport boots that had pieces of leather on top of the velcro that had their names and the 4-H symbol. All the kids loved everything they got.
As for me, I like coats, gloves, jackets, shirts, a certificate for cruel girl jeans, certificate for boots, and anything clothing I can wear. I'd rather get a certificate for pads and saddles so I can pick out width/color/etc as long as the certificate covers the entire cost of the item. $500 towards a saddle is by far the easiest way for me to get angry with winning a "prize". If I win a saddle, I best win the saddle. LOL not part of it. Any tack is good with me, cheap, custom, blingy, If I don't like it I can always resell it. |

Location: The best kept secret in TX | Here is a link to all the trophy items that Teskey's can make you. A lot of Clubs/Associations around here order from them and haven't had any complaints. Prices are pretty fair I hear too. A lot of clubs buy the cheaper saddles and if the kids/adults want a better saddle they can transfer the amount the association paid to another saddle. They even let you transfer to a different brand/maker if you want. A friend transfered her credit to a Martin and ended up paying like $500 or so for a custom Martin Barrel and she won a Roper with the club lol . Lots of clubs do this. http://www.teskeys.com/trophy-awards.html?limit=all |

| Won a gift certificate for a lameness exam for the local vet. I was from about 6 hours away,so not the best gift. I'm all for gift certificates, if it's from somewhere practical. |

Yeah that does kind of stink.... I give $500 for hi point overall, and last year division point winners got $200. It's only 5 weeks long and has added $ at every race, extra at finals. The awards are things I try to get sponsored, some of the things can have business logos on so that helps. |

I definitely try to get nicer stuff at least. To clarify it's only for a 5 week series, so not an association. I find all the sponsors myself. I have added money all 5 races with extra at the finals. I keep points and hi pt overall gets $500 cash, D winners $200 cash. I put all the nomination $ back into cash prizes or regular prizes. Last year I did a few drawings for $50-100 at the finals. It was awesome! So just looking for other ideas for prizes since I already do a lot of cash

That is a pretty crummy deal. We'be done saddle certificates before but they were always enough to cover the cost of the saddle with some additions. |

Location: in the ozone | My very favorite was a 5 Star pad! LOVE that pad!
I've also really liked gift certs for either "local" tack shops or the big names, not a place that is not easy to get products from.
Back on Track items are nice too!
I would say my 2nd favorite was a Professional Choice magnetic blanket - LOVE that & so do my horses. |
