| I have to agree, you can't ride papers but EQUISTAT sure keeps tract of horses' earnings by name. If I am looking at a top notch horse or even broodmare, I check earnings, placings, etc. How many horses are named Bud? probably more than a few.
Here is one I just don't understand. Lady has about 5 horses for sale. Her family has a medical expenses so she has to sell the horses. They are priced $500 to $10,000. (seriously) A person inquires if the 2 year old is registered. This lady has 2 or 3 babies a year. Answer---Yes, the horse could be registered but I just never go the paperwork together. Why keep having babies if you don't bother to register them? Well, something must have sold because she now on her way to New York City on Amtrac. People amaze me. |

Location: East Texas | Why do people list results of a horse that are false that you can look up? I have seen some on here like that. They claim that the horse placed so and so at some event, and you look it up and they are not there.
Another is they claim the horse can do this or that, but they post videos to the contrary |

Equistat doesn't give a whole picture. I see requests for the registered name of so and so's horse who placed at a particular rodeo. I placed at that rodeo, may have even won it, and nobody requested my horse's name. This has happened multiple times and I am certain the requester has no idea what my mare's name is but since she considers me a nobody, who cares who I am riding. |

Location: Oklahoma City OK | There was a time that I wouldn't refrain from looking at a horse without papers...until I was slapped in the face when someone procurred a horse I had owned and was selling/advertising him as MUCH younger and as a grade horse. Obviously so his true age (within a few years) couldn't be proven and his past ownership couldn't be investigated or questioned. Now I wouldn't consider a grade horse without having the best equine dental authority look at his/her mouth first.
But, back on track, don't you love the ads that say 14.6 h.h.? Or chestnut with black mane and tail? (Two of my favorite peeves...) |

My pet peeve is when they claim the horse lopes a pattern, or even runs barrels competitively and they post a video with the barrels set up in the arena, but for the video they just lope big circles off the pattern. |

Worst part about sellers like that is what they do to honest sellers :(
My problem is I'm TO honest, I just don't want anything to come back and bite me, I beg people to get vet Checks!! It's happened before, even had the X-rays that I got done since they wouldn't and I was still to blame even though I handed them the paperwork and X-rays, ugh. |

No 1D, I am not one bit jealous. Just pointing out that the FACT that Equistat is not the end all, be all of race history on horses. Just because they don't show winnings on Equistat doesn't mean there aren't any, especially on rodeo horses. This mare was given to me and I have zero intent of selling her, even hubby has said she is here until we HAVE to bury her. So what is it I have to be jealous of? Because this individual doesn't think I'm "somebody"? I knew her momma before she was born I am still here, running and probably will be after she is long gone.
If you knew me at all you would know that I could care less about what people think, especially if I do not hold them in respect. Guess which category you fall in?
To the rest of y'all, sorry this particular train ran off the track. |

This is my favorite...horses that are 16.2 and you get out there and they are barely 15 hands. Seen so many that they are not close to advertised height. |

My husband has accused me of trying to talk people out of buying a horse, but I just tell them everything I would want to know. But alas, still had a girl said I lied about one I sold...(he was very hard to get in arena) and this was after she had picked him up and taken him to several jackpots . Oh well, think I just keep them all.. |
