I don't know how much exactly but I can tell you that mine is HEAVY!  I have back problems and some days it's all I can do to lift it up onto my 16.1H gelding.  But it's so comfy and well made that I try not to complain about the weight

I have a Crown C and a Caldwell, and I think the Caldwell is a bit heavier then my Crown C, not by much thou but is heavier.. I think your better built saddles will be on the heaver side.

This would be for my mare that had kissing spine surgery, and she's not a big mare... I just worry it will be to heavy on her back??

My horse has kissing spine and if you get the right tree you wont go wrong with the Caldwell I wish I had never sold my Caldwell and I am fixing to get another one! I sold my Caldwell for personal reason. I will never do that again! I have regretted since I sold! As far as weight I didn't really notice that much difference against the other saddles Ive had in the past.

To me as long as they fit the horse I dont see a problem with it, but I dont have a horse with KS so really I cant say much.. Maybe start a thread and ask the BB's that do have a horse with KS what saddles do they use for them are whats the best saddle for horses with Kissing Spine.

Keep in mind. A lightly oiled saddle is far less heavy than a dark/heavy oiled saddle. Color changes weight.
The oil is soaked into the saddle making it heavier. The darker the heavier. Lots of people forget this fact. Now, if you ask them to dye the leather that is also different but most saddle manufacturers will oil them for the color because it's cheaper.

Promise. Put a light oil saddle on a scale. Then put a dark oil saddle of the exact brand/maker/ etc on the scale and watch how much more it weighs.
I love dark oil saddles but I hate heaving them up to my horses back.

I just got my Caldwell a few months ago. I am not exactly sure how much it weighs, but I remember the box shipping weight was 35 pounds. So, I think they are a close to 30. I know mine seems a little heavier. But, I love it!
