Location: Kansas | Last night Martha McCallum from FOX gave a very interesting presentation between the mother of a 17-year-old murdered by an illegal immigrant and an illegal immigrant brought here as a child who seems to have zero interest in becoming a citizen. This man insisted that the millions of illegals here were needed and contributed to our Social Security system and paid taxes. The mother instantly asked how he in particular got a Social Security card. He stammered and stuttered and finally said "my grandfather bought it for me." The interview stopped pretty abruptly and I have a feeling he regretted this comment since he was trying to defend illegals.
How do you "buy" a Social Security card? Anyone? I'm hoping Trump was watching this as he does watch FOX news. |

| I saw the same thing and he was standing there claiming that most illegals are not criminals. Pretty sure that if I "bought" a SS card, I would end up in jail. Last time I checked that is identity fraud.....but I guess that is OK if you are illegal. His idea of what is criminal and what is not is indicative of the mindset . He wants to think that criminal is only robbery, rape, etc. Considering that graft and corruption runs rampant in Mexico it's not a wonder how that mindset comes about and an added boost is the Left supports him in that mindset. of course this is all MHO (don't want to get prosecuted for slander). |

I think it's a common misunderstanding that illegals don't pay taxes/contribute and only work for cash. Many do obtain someone's social security number and do pay taxes. Many do work for cash, it goes both ways.
I'm not pro illegal immigration by any means, but an illegal working regular paycheck cutting provide your documentation and fill out an I-9 type jobs isn't all that uncommon. |

Location: East Texas | They are issued an ITIN number:
IRS issues ITINs to foreign nationals and others who have federal tax reporting or filing requirements and do not qualify for SSNs. A non-resident alien individual not eligible for a SSN who is required to file a U.S. tax return only to claim a refund of tax under the provisions of a U.S. tax treaty needs an ITIN.
Other examples of individuals who need ITINs include:
• A nonresident alien required to file a U.S. tax return
• A U.S. resident alien (based on days present in the United States) filing a U.S. tax return
• A dependent or spouse of a U.S. citizen/resident alien
• A dependent or spouse of a nonresident alien visa holder

Location: In The Land of Cotton | You buy SS numbers. ANd, they print the cards in their vans sitting at the quickie stores.
Don't think for a minute that a lot of illegals working are paying taxes. Some do and some don't. But, since they are illegal, they don't file. They claim 8 dependents on their W-4's. No taxes are taken out, or they check the exempt box.
There is also a way to cheat Everify. Thus, illegals can be "legal" in the system. |

Location: Kansas | Does the ITIN number mean they can also draw Social Security because I've seen several rather lazy and disgusting illegals interviewed bragging about their SS benefits. Together with welfare and food stamps they seem to be very happy with coming to America.

The OP was not asking how to get documentation legally, but how one buys a SS # like someone said they had on TV.
Heck if they can make a good wage, I will sell them mine so that I can claim THIER benefits. Crap, that age is coming way too fast, my SS needs a boost! |

Do I not remember something about Mexico printing booklets on how to get the best benefits in the US and giving them out to folks released from prison and those coming through from Central America? That is where I bet Trump's statements about criminals coming across the border stems from. |

Location: Not Where I Want to Be | Few years ago I changed payroll companies and they did a SSN dump and verify
I had 23 hands that were by my standards(fed standards) and what I had on file legal. But their SSN's were either dead folks, relatives or totally fake.
Gave the 60 days to get right or they were terminated. All but 3 were teminated. |

The ones that have the ITIN numbers are not here legally, but if they have one of those cards, taxes are taken out by employers, so they are paying into the system. Believe me, I live in Texas and KNOW that probably most illegals do not pay taxes. I have been a paralegal for over 40 years and have dealt with some Hispanic clients that some do possess those ITIN cards and do pay into the system. I also know for certain that some buy SS cards and use those cards when they have never been issued to them, and nobody pays taxes on those "bought" cards. Like anything else, there is always a way to get around the system and people will find a way. The ITIN cards are legal and obviously can be applied for by illegal aliens. How when you are illegal you can get something that is legal is beyond me.

And when they do have a fake SS# and pay in, they declare a ridiculous amount of dependents so what they pay in is chump change compared to what they get in services.
Come in the legal way or stay out. It's great to have immigrants that can contribute to our society. |

| I have personally have had my SSN stolen and used by a Mexican illegal to work in the fruit orchards. He (I'm a she, btw) didn't even use my name. Just my number. I went into apply for unemployment and they asked if I went by any other name and I said no (this was pretty marriage). And they asked again if I had gone by the name Francisco Rodriguez and named off a boy 5 orchards I supposedly worked in. It was a B!TCH to get taken care of. Screw those @ssholes and their giving ways?? |

I'm headed to the Social Security office this morning with the fear that the same thing may have happened to me. Something is definitely amiss.

Location: Colorado plains standing on a goat head! | I did some software work for a feedlot and they said they had several guys come through working for them that used the same SSN. When one guy left, he just passed the number on to the next guy. So there are several ways to get around the laws. Many of them also apply for the Earned Income Credit so they get checks even if they did not pay in. There have been instances of the IRS sending over 10 or 20 of those checks to the same address! Definitely gaming the system! |
