| Does anyone have a Roomba? I really really want one (at least I think I do) for my hardwood floor.
Which one did you end up getting? Love it? Hate it? Comments? Suggestions? Let me know! |

Location: Texas! | I have a Bissell robot vacuum that I got at work Christmas party. It is amazing it runs everyday and goes back to its docking station. Our floors are much cleaner! |

| We have the 650 and LOVE IT! Have had it a year last Christmas and have had zero issues with it and we run it almost everyday. "The maid" as we call her goes over the carpet rug in the living room and goes from tile to hardwood easy. We have not had to sweep since we bought her. The dust bunnies that were always in our long hallway were almost impossible to keep away until the maid. I'll put her in a room, shut the door, and open it later if she needs to stay in that specific room for awhile. I have lots of long hair that falls out like no other and every now and then you have to cut it out of the bristles but its no big deal. Would've done it a long time ago if we would've known. |

Location: Utah | I have one and I like it. I have two indoor dogs and two little boys with all hardwood floors in my house. I wish the dirt catcher was bigger my dogs hair fills it up before she is finished. We named her Alice and my boys stuck eyeballs on her lol. She lives in the closet and if you leave the door open she cleans and goes back to her dock by herself. I wish I had one for upstairs too. |

It looks like the amazon prime price is the same as wal-mart. Do they work well with an odd shaped room? How are they around kitchen table chairs?

| I had one, loved it but if hair or debris got wrapped around the wheels it made small scratches in my pecan floors :(. Now my daughter has a really nice roomba. |

Location: SW North Dakota | OHHHH! What does it do with stairs or the strips that go across the seams between hardwood/tile? Our upstairs is about 2000 SF of hard floors and there are two sets of stairs. The porch is 30x30' of tile and usually has dirt and cowpoop and boots everywhere. Could I program it not to go in the porch? I would be sad if it drug cow poop all over my hardwood. :( |

Mine will not fall down the stairs. It has a sensor that stops it. Some models you can buy little things you can put in the door way called a room barrier that will stop it from going in an area. My house is all pretty even with only hardwood and tile and it does great. I first used it at my parents house where we were living while building ours. She has a mix of tile thick carpet, hardwood , rugs and thin carpet with different heights and the roomba handled it great. some rooms are almost 2 inches higher than the next. |

Location: BRITISH COLUMBIA CANADA | I have had my maid Roomba for about 3 years. She has faithfully run everyday. I think she is a 650 pet series.
The key to keeping Roomba going and doing a good job is keeping them clean. Everyday I empty the dust bin, once a week I clean the pet hair out of the wheels and every other month or so, I take the cover off and clean out any pet hair that has snuck in. If you don't keep the hair cleaned out the motors/bearings can easily burn out.
That being said she keeps the pet hair at my house (Current house is all carpet, old house was all hardwood.)under control and that is no easy task as we have a Rough Collie (Lassie), a Golden Retriever, a Mini Aussie and a cat. I still get out the full size vaccuum once a week just to get into all nooks and crannys as I am slightly OCD. I would highly recommend a Roomba! 3 years free from pet hair fur balls rolling around my house!

Location: When you hit the middle of nowhere .. Keep driving | I had one and it lasted 3 weeks before I went back to vacuuming daily the old way. I cleaned it daily but it couldn't keep up with my shepherd/huskys hair. I brush him all the time but he sheds like a mad man. The brushes would clog daily and it couldn't keep up with doing my great room... I didn't even make it do 2/3rds of the house. |

I'm glad you've mentioned to keep it clean daily. I'm not going to lie, this will be hard for me! We have 2 house cats and a corgi- there's hair, but daily sweeping with my gym mop keeps it under control. I think I will lock it out of the porch. I'm hoping it can make it through the bedroom carpet- it's ultra thick, plush modern shag. I had to ditch my beloved Oreck vac for a very expensive Simplicity, as my Oreck choked on the carpet.

Location: The best kept secret in TX | My Best friend bought one to keep the dog hair under control in her house. She loved the little $800 one.
However, her husband has a walk in shower with a shower head that turns on automatically when you step in front of the sensor... The poor Roomba never stood a chance...
She bought another one after the littlest one died. She bought the most expensive one they make I think. It was like $1,200 and runs constantly. Needless to say, the husbands automatic shower head found a new home. LOL |

No pets in the house but I am OCD and would love to vacuum daily but lack of time. These little things look fun, but I would be miffed if it bounced around off my Entertainment center and book cases, table legs etc. |

I watched their little info video and it looks like it has a sensor that prevents it from crashing into stuff...
The video also answered my questions about stairs and "no-access" settings- you can program it to stop at "virtual walls." |
