Here we are paying $243 us$ for 1 ton bulk coal with us hauling. Free delivery if you take 3 ton minimum. The prebagged coal is $287 a ton. We've already gone thru 2 ton and I am needing another. Normally we only use about 2.5 ton. Not this yr....Oh, and that doesn't include the propane delivery's we've had.

Do you think people will find other ways to heat their homes? Is that even an option in ab? Surely there are more cost efficient ways than to pay that tax! Wow...

Life Saver Posts: 10477 Location: MT	I lived in a house that had a furnace that used heating oil back when the fuel prices were really high (still are, but thankfully are less than they were!). It was costing me $800 to fill the heating oil tank, which would only last me 6 weeks. This was in addition to building a fire in an inefficient old fireplace insert every morning and night. It was ridiculous! Loved living there but just could not afford it. I remember going and buying 5 gallon jugs of red dye diesel and burning that in the furnace to make it between fill ups. Urghhhh!

I have no idea....this new government both fed and provincial is just piling on the taxes.....we have a wood fireplace but its as useful as tits on a boar...want to switch it out with a wood stove but my insurance company wont cover me then...would love to set up solar but thats a huge expense...50thou ish...m
