Nordstoms dropping Ivanka Trump's clothing line was purely politcal and what the heck?  How crude and unnecessary.  Now conservative women are waltzing into their stores and closing out their accounts.  One grandma announcing she will no longer shop there nor will her husband or her nine children or her eight grandchildren.  When I watched the video on FOX this morning I kept seeing Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman when she was rejected by the high-end department store because she was a hooker, later coming back and flaunting her purchases from another store in the employees faces.  "Huuuuge mistake."  So funny.

My boss just closed his wife's account. No more make up, shoes, dresses, housewares, suites, or any other items for them. She had a charge every week almost to there buying things for all her homes, the company, and etc. She would just say "Oh yeah I'll call (Insert Name) At Nordstrom's and get it sent overnight here."
No more said the Bossman.
We also made a comapny pledge of no more Starbuck's either. We used to stop and get everyone here in the office one on fridays as a gift from our boss. We would buy the huge hot coffee boxes and get cups and creamer sent over for meetings during the week. We visited at least 2 or 3 times a day as a company and had people going as individuals as well. (Given, the coffee isn't that great in my opinion but it's close to the office and is handed out for free in the breakroom.
We now give our business to a local coffee shop about 10min away from the office on our historic square. I read books there all the time and it's a great place with an awesome atmosphere. Coffee is great too. The coffee beans are never over roasted and are great. Plus the owner is the sweetest person in the world and always reccomends great books.
Sorry for getting off topic....

I have never bought anything at Nordstrom before. Will have to go check them out. After that I will hit up my local Target and grab some Starbucks.

How many of you all noticed stores and restaurants closed for "immigration day" protests? Hubby and I went to go to lunch yesterday and our favorite Mexican food place (go figure) was closed with a protest sign out front. Guess I'll be finding a new fave restaurant...

I didn't go to lunch yesterday so I wouldn't know. But I did hear that a lot of businesses in town were closed. I also heard our local paper was going to do a print up of all the businesses that WERE closed... I have a feeling they just shot theirself in the foot. Our town has a few Libs but is made up and managed by mostly Conservatives.

Not down here. All the taquerias were open. We are way over 50% Mexican down here. I didn't notice or hear about any businesses closed in my area. Yay, South Texas!

I didn't see anything closed, not even the immigrant owned businesses.  I didn't even realize that "protest" was a thing until reading some news stuff last night.

We don't even have a Nordstroms...and to my knowledge none of our stores never had ANY of Trump's or Ivanka Trump's clothing, etc. lines....so it doesn't really make a difference to us.

But, its a free country, and as was pointed out by someone else, if Ivanka Trump's clothing, makeup, shoe, etc. lines were making money, they wouldn't drop them even if he or she was an axe murderer.

In my view, Nordstroms and any other company are well within their rights to drop any line, including Ivanka Trump's.  If Nordstroms dropped Mariah Carey's line or Jennifer Lopez's line (which I don't even know if they have, I'm just using those names for an example), would anyone on here really care? No. So Ivanka Trump's line should be viewed the same way.

Nordstrom might have considered their demographics. The type of clothing they sell cater to the very people who are dropping accounts.  I believe their base city is Seattle and well, that's about  a liberal as you can get, and when you live in a bubble like that, you lose sight of the whole picture.

?All of this is just growing pains, and I knew it wouldn't start out smooth, but the full out temper tantrum crybaby antics being thrown by liberals is slightly amusing and a whole lot terrifying.   I mean, wow.

?When they started freaking out at the pic of Ivanka sitting at her father's desk, I really knew they are knee jerking every da** reaction just to react.  So what if he let his daughter, (A woman) sit at the desk.  The left would have cheered if it was a liberal woman, its just because she's a conservative that they had the melt down.

?They can all go hump a dry rope.

It didn't have anything to do with her line of clothing not selling.  It had to do with Donald Trump being her father. Liberals have gone after the President's family with designers refusing to "dress" Melania (their loss she's a work of art) and making fun of Barron who does appear to be autistic but on the other hand he's 10.   It's the whole family they're persecuting and conservatives never or rarely remarked on the Obama daughters or Michelle.

Stores drop and pick up lines all the time, but it doesn't normally make the news with some big announcement.  The timing was also suspect.  I didn't shop there anyway (no idea where a Nordstrom's is) and doubt I would buy any of Ivanka's stuff because I'm not foo-foo, so I don't really care, but it didn't seem like it was just business.

I've never shopped at Nordstoms, and had no plans to start. However, I will no longer buy Starbucks coffee on my weekly grocery store trip, and I am getting enrolled in the auto-reorder for Black Rifle coffee company. There is now a two week wait for shipping since their announcement. BOOM! Still ordering :)

Apparently, you have NEVER been in the retail clothing business.....these stores make their decisions to add or delete clothing lines MONTHS in advance.....probably as early as summer of 2016 or early fall ..... long before the election. And here is another "clue" that it wasn't selling.....stores like TJMax, Marshalls, etc. were carrying some of her lines....they ONLY get those well known lines when they don't sell well in the "upper end" stores.....I think it is hilarious that people are boycotting stores that are deleting lines of clothes MADE IN CHINA ...... so much for the touting of American Made.,.....LOL

Plus the hot mic comment to the Russian dignitary, "Tell Vladmir I'll have more freedom after the election", his interference in the last election in Israel, his travel ban, Susan Rice and HRC lying to the American people, Uranium One deal. I'm sure there is much more but I have to get back to work. Not a peep from the Dems then, but now they are suddenly outraged at everything.  Hypocrites, every last one of them!

?If all these companies were smart but still thought it was a good thing to **** off half the country, at least they should not **** of the half that actually pays for thier stuff.
