Arena Drag?

We are looking to purchase a new arena drag. I am wondering what you all have and why you like it. We have a lot of clay in our arena so it gets really hard if any moisture sets on it. So then, it just clots up when you drag it. What suggestions do you have for a drag? Has anyone heard of or purchased a drag called "The Drag Queen?"

They use Groundhogs at most events around here. We have a lot of clay too and use a landpride, but I wouldn't say it does a fabulous job. I'd love to talk my in-laws into adding some sand to help with the clods

In our experience you are going to need something that is very heavy built for your type of ground. We have broke off more shanks/tynes then care to mention from hard ground. I still think it is hard to beat a good ol' farmers harrow. You might have to disk it sometimes to get the depth but the harrow will level it back out perfectly. check out some of the farm auctions or start looking at all the hedge rows in the county, you will be surprised at how many are sitting in those places.

We bought a disk and rigged a chain drag behind it. It looks really redneck but it works beautifully! We have red clay and it's a pain in the rear, even with added sand.

I use a groundhog to rip my arena and then a tiller. I have clay too and it's really a matter of catching the moisture just right. I would love to add river sand but just can't afford it. A reveal of groundhog will work best for you.

I use a disk then a tiller on our clay based arena follow it up with a Arena Werks drag. Lots of work but worth it. I have lots of sand in my round pen so Just tilling gets that job done.
