| We attended a Large show this weekend. The Show itself was awesome! The problem.....People!
1. Do NOT just park just anywhere and unhook your trailer. EX A drive through area. Lucky someone didn't tear their rear end off trying to get through that area
2. Warm up arenas with barrels- WAIT your dang turn!
3. Check In with GATE People! I don't care who you are! If you don't know the gate person, they probably don't know YOU! And even if they do, it may be dark, you have on a hat, they are tired.......Be NICE ya!
4. Do not park your horse in front of someone's RV door
Use common sense! Ask yourself, would I be ok with someone doing ______to me?
Oh, I am sure there was more that I didn't witness.....

How about when there is plenty of room to go around in either direction, do not shove your spooky pony between people's cars. Go around! |

| I so relate and agree with you on all of that. I have seen it all and I am a gemini and it bugs me to no end. Or when there is PLENTY of room to park . Like million acres and they park 2' from your trailer and give you that death look when you ask them to move over a little. |

Location: Mississippi | Just from your name, I have a feeling I know where you went and if so, I was there too - I have to agree, the whole parking ordeal was a mess. I almost did take out the trailer that was parked in the middle of where you pull through. It's hard enough pulling a big trailer through a parking lot where there is some type of order but this was just chaos!
And please people, don't let your kids ride DOUBLE & BAREBACK in the warmup pens!!! Sorry, but this is just an accident waiting to happen I don't care how good of a rider they are. |

Location: In The Snow, AZ | I had an incident where I was clearly tying horses on one side of the trailer, had halters and leads tied there, water buckets and hay nets. But I had taken the horses to the warm up arena, come back and someone is parked about 6 feet off the side. I asked if they could move their vehicle as I was tying my horses there and they said there was plenty of room. So I thanked them for their time, tied my horses there anyways and as I walked away, added that my mare is a kicker. I came back a few minutes later and there truck was gone. Lol. |

Yeah Red steel trailer next to warm up pen...Clearly parked in the drive through! We made it around it the first day, but second, had to back out and go around the other direction. |

| So much ditto to the parking lot. We have one facility that really needs to police parking a little more. Everything was great when I pulled in and parked a couple weekends ago, then pretty soon people have completely blocked the flow of traffic and people are trying to squeeze big rigs between the truck in the row behind me and the back of my trailer. Glad my horses aren't spooky.
I'd add that the entire north side of the facility had ample room and it was pretty obvious the south field was packed. |

| I do not warm up in the designated warm up area at a couple of places local to me. I go out to the pasture area alone. Mainly because there are a couple of children who make me nervous. (I love kids dont get me wrong) there is one in particular that runs circles back there the entire race whether she is up soon or not. She lopes through the middle of everyone and near the exit of the alley constantly. I have witnessed her almost getting ran over by an exiting barrel horse several times. She also has almost been in several wrecks with others who are warming up. I look and her mother is almost never around. IT SCARES THE BEJESUS OUT OF ME!! I have to go else where. I know if I said anything I would be the automatic bad guy.

| parking at big shows can be a nightmare for sure. My favorite story that happened to me is when I got to a barrel race at 7 am, I was the first one there I mind you (I worked at the office taking entries too). We were in the middle of the adult class (5 hours later), going nuts with all the entries, keeping times etc and this lady came into the office and asked me if whenever I was not too busy I wouldn't mind to move my truck and trailer 4 feet to the left so her horses can have more room (she literally squeezed between my trailer and the one next to me)!!! no regards to the fact that my horse was close enough to the horses on the other side and that I WAS THERE FIRST! .... people amazes me sometimes! LOL |

| Oh don't even get me started !!! We parked one time..I got in my trailer and when I opened the door someone had parked RIGHT ON TOP OF US!!! I literally hit her horse when I opened my door and she was PO'd at ME!!! Told her if she could move over a bit (no one was parked on the other side of her) I wouldn't touch her horse. She just got snippy and walked away. Then I was not supposed to be mad when her horse pooped...yes POOPED on the step to my camper!!! |

Yes, that's the one. They were there untacking when I went through and barely even moved their horse enough for me to try and squeeze by. Grrr...lol. |

Kids make me so nervous. I really wish parents would teach them how to warm up their horses without getting in everyone's way. It's just going to end up getting someone or someone's horse hurt.
While we are talking about kids...the banging around and running up and down the bleachers drives me nuttttssss. I had a kid run over my feet with a scooter at a race this weekend. Literally, ran over my foot. My pinky toe nail fell off today actually. Ughh..let them play behind the bleachers. |

| At a very recent barrel race, there was a lady holding a SMALL baby walking up the alley during a drag. Naturally, there were a few people who walked their horses into the alley. I told the lady she was not in a very safe place and she said her daughter was running so I told her that would make it much safer. @#$%^&* |

LOL to the warm up Pen.....I think it would be great if all the Barrel Clinics, would give Warm Up Pen 101
The scooters and dogs were out of control! I am an animal lover! But, IF you can't keep your dog quiet, he needs to be outside. There was one right behind the first barrel. WHEN, kids came running by, he would go bonkers! I was sitting there thinking.....IF that dog does that when one of mine is running....Someone is getting an ear full! And We shouldn't have to dodge your dog, because he has full access to the entire length of his leash.
AND, the scooters just thrown down at the end of the steps of the bleachers, like 3 or 4. I can only imagine what their house/yard/barn looks like, because evidently it is ok just to drop your stuff where ever!
I use to LOVE going to the BIG shows! But with No common sense becoming more prevalent, I was more than ready to go home yesterday!
AND this is why some arenas implement more RULES....because people can't think or police their children. |

Location: North Dakota | I have had lots of parking and riding "events" but one thing that I will not forget is when someone's dog bit my son! We went to a 4H show being held in our area. As I walked up to the table taking entries a large dog rushed out from under the table and bit my 6 year old son in the face through his nose and mouth! My son started crying and screaming and I grabbed wet wipes from my purse to put on his nose which was bleeding really bad! One of the women sitting at the entry table jumped up and said, you shouldn't touch other people's dogs! Not a sorry or can I get something for you or anything at all positive. I was holding my sons hand so I know he didn't touch the dog it simply rushed him and bit him in the nose and mouth! I gathered my son and walked towards my truck. As I was walking off I heard a guy start shouting at the woman saying she knew the dog bites and why would she have the dog around other people. They were all staring when they saw me pull out of the facility without entering! I never entered or went to that facility again!!! |

Oh dear!! Poor baby!!!! That just hurts my heart. And for her to immediatly lay the blame on you (your son) without even appologizing?!? How insensitive! You could have been a much bigger pain in her rear if you had wanted to. I know people who have been taken to court for less, and had their dogs quartentined/paid fines and medical bills. |

| I thought I might add that at a barrel race last Saturday, as I was walking to the sign up building, A kid threw a ball and it missed my face by an inch. I watched that kid all day to see who his parents were. I never did see him talk to any adults. I teach in a high school and have the worst kids in the building in my room, but they have enough respect for adults to keep from hurting you. I have never felt unsafe. This kid had NO manners. |
