| What do you all feed your horses (both forage and concentrate)? How did you decide on that diet? Pics of your horses on that feeding program would also be GREAT. Thanks!

| Mine is simple. A 14% pellet--four pounds morning, four pounds evening. 1 scoop of Platinum Performance. About a tablespoon of salt and about 15 pounds of coastal hay split morning and evening. Broodmares get GroStrong loose minerals free choice. All of mine are a little too fat.
I prefer square bales. |

| alfalfa hay with some grass mixed in
brood mares and colts get lmf development and rice bran
everyone else gets lmf showtime and rice bran
lmf is a brand that has two formulas one for alfalfa and one for grass so it stays pretty balanced.. |

Location: London Ontario | I really need to weigh my feed but for now we use a large metal scoop as our measurement. Everything is turned out from 7am to about 7pm or later on a dry lot with a large square bale until the summer when they are on pasture 24/7.
Futurity mare - 3/4 scoop of alfalfa/timothy mini cubes(whatever brand the feed store hay, its local hay I know that) watered down heavily until its a mash along with 1/2 scoop of Integri-t and 1/4 triple cleaned whole oats. Once my hay cubes run out I will be using alfalfa pellets instead. I also add in a serving of Healthy Coat(or veggie oil), and 3 scoops platinum performance. Once the summer comes along I will just have her on Alfalfa, Integri-t, platinum performance and Oil.
Open rodeo horse - husbands team roping horse, my barrel horse gets 1/4 scoop whole oats with 2 scoops platinum performance and some Healthy Coat or whatever oil we have in the barn. |

Location: In The Snow, AZ | Mine are getting one to two decent sized flakes of good alfalfa, am and pm. Basically free fed Bermuda. A scoop of beet pulp, 2lbs Triple Crown Complete, and THE MM. My buttermilk was pretty thin, lacking muscle, lanky when I got her, just a few months back. Her pic was taken just the other day, hence the fuzzies. My darker buckskin, I don't have a recent pic for. But the picture I have is from this past summer. She's my little firecracker. Can't get enough of her.

| This mare at the time was on grass hay and *gasp* oats.
I really try to keep things as simple as I can with my program. I think the reason we see so many horses with gastric issues is because they are man made problems.
Now most of my horses are on an alfalfa/grass mix, Renew Gold and Oats. I also supplement with Exceed 6-Way, but no current pictures as it is the middle of winter here and everyone is wooly :)

Location: NE Texas | I have the simplest feed program ever! A flake of alfalfa twice a day, one pound of whole oats with Cur-Ost, and a cup of BOSS once a day. On small pasture, but there is no pasture this time of year. I think he's doing pretty well. This picture of him saddled is the dead of winter on the above program. I didn't even blanket this year and his hair coat is so shiny and smooth. Recently (like this week) I replaced my boss with hemp seed oil, as I didn't like the quality of the BOSS or flax seed available to me.
IMO the number one priority of any feed program needs to be top quality forage. Beyond that, all nutrients should come from whole food sources rather than processed grains or concentrates.

We'll be making our way to Oklahoma tomorrow for a couple jackpots and then the Diamonds and Dirt futurity next week. I'm pretty excited to get her in some bigger pens |

| I keep it pretty simple I feed 1 1/2 lbs oats 3/4 alfalfa pellet 3 ounces of peas and 2 ounces of pumpkin seeds , hemp seed oil and various herbal mixtures but everyone gets marshmellow root, aloe, spirulina and turmeric. Here is a picture of a mare a few weeks ago I am in Montana and have had the hardest winter we have seen in 20 yrs. No barn still shiny! Had to use picture from Oct/Nov The second picture is from a couple weeks ago. They have all been on alfalfa all winter.
