Title says it. Just wondering what you guys think. Just traded a mare for him. Ran 5 years on the track wining a touch over $70k. Had 6 months off and lightly started on barrels.

I like the top, don't care for the bottom personally.

I like both. Jumpn hasn't really made a name as a barrel sire. I think Chicks Beduino is the culpret. But all in all, I would give it a try, I love those running horses.

I like cow bred horses, but I also like Beduino and Chicks Beduino. Not too familiar with the bottom side. Definitely a lot of run on this set of papers.

From what I'm told, he has thrown a few bucks coming off of third at a lope. He had a lameness exam done acupressure points checked and nothing was found. She said she will forward me the records.

Also, I was told that after having been on the track for 5 years, he's pretty much used up. What are your guys thoughts on this?

Responding to your second question :)
Go to equibase. You can type in horses name and find a goldmine of information on horses there. My experience with OT horses is if a horse has more than 10 outs it becomes really hard to cross train for another discipline. I'm not saying it can't be done but it becomes harder. Start like you have a 2 yo and work from ground foundation up. Check/treat for ulcers and if horse is bucking check for kissing spine.
Good luck. Those that take hard work often become the most rewarding when you get them like you want them :)

The pedigree is mostly solid run. People have mixed opinions on the Chicks Beduino line. I would be more concerned with the history. You definitely need a good vet check.

I made the trade because I was trying to move a mare that hates running. Great trail horse or whatever, but had no ambition. Had her for sale for a while without many bites and was wanting a change. I don't really feel I need to explain it though. Was looking for opinions on pedigree, and thought I'd ask about the length of his race career.

Have brought 2 of ours from track to the arena.  First thing we did was let them just sit out in the pasture for 6 months and then started training all over with the basics like you'd start a 2 yr old.   The pedigree says alot of run, but I'd be putting something like flex on him too :)

I appreciate all of your thoughts. I had the farrier out today addressing a club foot. He's concerned with it which is hard to hear. I was able to ride him thereafter and he's a nice gelding with a decent handle. Our farrier feels he's about a grade three. I have a mare that's about a grade one without any issue. Not sure what options are at this point. By do appreciate all your thought and opinions.

Don't be too hard on him. Lol. He needs some groceries and a top line. Also included a picture of his foot in question. It's the further one.

Five years on the track would scare me off, that and the breeding on the top.  Did he pass a good vet check?

He looks like a sweet boy, you just keep doing what your doing with him and enjoy
Edit to add: I like his hip, wish you had a better picture of him looking your way and not in a shadow, its really hard to get a good look of him, but I like his hip in this picture
