Location: Southern Indiana | Sundowners are okay depending on the year. Some had bad floor issues. Featherlight is a mid range brand...better than some. We looked at one and I'm glad we didn't buy it because we later on heard the floor was like Swiss cheese.
Go for c&c, platinum, 4 star, elite, cimmeron. I really wouldn't ever buy anything but these brands and I wouldn't bat an eye at one that's 15 years old. They are quality and will hold up. I have a c&c that's 17 yrs old this year and you'd never know it. I'll take it over a fancy trailer any day.
Stay away from exiss, bison, Lakota, kiefer |

Yeah but not everyone has thousands to spend either.......anyways sundowners and exiss are super nice trailers! I've pulled both for years with tons of success! |

Location: Arkansas | We have a 99 Sundowner 4H LQ and love it. We haven't been hauling much the past 2 years because of Sean's back, but before then we hauled a lot to playdays, barrel runs, and trail riding. I'd buy another in a heartbeat. Do I know there are more expensive trailers out there? Sure, but for what we do I love our trailer and it works. |

| Seeing the Lakota posts sort of makes me wonder why the slam for the money? My sister bought a new one last year and has had excellent luck so far on it, and the living quarters are beautiful and I think they are well priced trailers yet good quality. |

I'm going to be in the market this summer for a new small living quarters and really leaning Lakota. I just can'f justify or afford the Platinums or 4star. I've heard good things locally on Lakota! |

Location: on the fine line between insanity and geniusness | I think a lot depends on how much you will pull or use your trailer. For heavy use elite, platinum, bloomer, c&c, diamond are the only way to go. For moderate to light use I wouldn't hesitate buying a sooner, featherlite, sundowner, Cherokee, lokota, or bison.
ETA- I've either owned or pulled all of the above mentioned if you need opinions firsthand!

I enjoyed my newer elite the best though.. but older sundowners, featherlites etc are good to for weekend trips....ive owned cherokee, featherlite, 4star and Elite.. the cherokee couldnt hold up to my schedule and demand though.. nor did the featherlite .

| You can get a C&C for a really good price if you look for them. A lot of people don't realize that they're right up there with 4 Stars in terms of quality and just pass them by. We absolutely love our C&C. |

I pulled a C&C my senior year in high school and all through college... LOVED IT!! Especially considering that's back when I didn't appreciate things like I do now and didn't necessarily take the best care of it!! It was a trooper!! I went to college rodeos, amateur rodeos, pro rodeos and futurities in that poor thing!! It never missed a beat! I LITERALLY lived in it in one point when I decided that paying rent on my house was stupid when I was once there two or three days a week! I recently just bought a Diamond- they are built on the same engineering specs as a C&C. A man in south Texas built them for a few years when C&C went under and I LOVE IT. out of all the trailers I've owned, the C&C, Diamond, Elite and the OLD Bloomers are my favorite. |

Agreed, I pull a Lakota and have several friends who do. Our trailers get used probably 3 weeks/mo April-October around the state and regionally. We aren't hauling for the NFR but we aren't just looking at them in the driveway either.
They were just founded in 2006, my understanding is by folks who built RV's for a long time before that. |

They were copied after a 4-Star. There is a reason they look so similar. |

Same here just the normal maintance. It was in mint condition for all these years that I have own it and then we had a bad freak hail strom last April and it got dinged up pretty bad, now it looks like its got dimples, lol..I think the older trailers are made to last..Its a oldie but a goodie |
