Silly question. I currently live in south Texas. (Border town) and I am planning to move when I finish my studies. Where do you guys think would be a good place to have a home and horse property? Small towns dont matter.. a good place where there is horse people and events xD. I plan to buy and resale projects as a side job so i'd need a good place. I know buying a large property is expensive but ya know lets put some places in the wish list. Preferably in Texas or OK.
Thank youuuu!

I live in Bandera, TX and love it.  If I would move I would go to Llano or the greater Stephenville area.

I'm no help with that geographic area, but I would think it would depend on what you are studying and where you might be able to find a full time job?

Weatherford TX.
I would look into smaller rural areas for property. Weatherford, Brock, Peaster, and Aledo have wonderful schools. However, they also have the most expensive land because of the school district.

Prices for rent homes and even homes for sale range drastically depending on the area you are looking at. Parker County is very large with a great home town feel.
I live on the outskirts of Weatherford and have many neighbors who are great horse people. We moved here back in 2009. We were welcomed right in. Events every single day here for every discipline. Barrels, roping, cutting, dressage, jumping... We have everything here.

I agree with Nina.  Those are nice areas.  I lived in the Waco area for a number of years.  The nice thing about it is it puts you close to all areas that have lots of horse activities.

I sounded just like that when I was 18 (or 15). I'm 45 and finally live in a place I have always wanted to live.

Unless you have your income figured out, you're going to need to take much more into consideration. For most people, job opportunities determine their location.

Now, those nice big, low priced tracts of land that are located nowhere near any businesses or jobs... they make a great place for you to get your retirement check.

Anywhere in north Texas!! We just moved to Stephenville and love it! Weatherford was a bit too expensive for us but Stephenville is perfect. There are barrel races pretty much every day of the week all within an hour or so.

Do not come to Georgia.   Way too many bugs and TX and OK have way more races and producers of good shows.

If I could pack up and move today, I would go to stephenville in a heartbeat. It's super affordable, especially compared to where I live.
