Is hindgut acidosis the same thing as hindgut ulcers? That's all I got except colic.

What about leaky gut syndrome?

Tumours that wrap around the intestine, can't think of the name, can cause horses to go off feed, loose weight, and even colic.

Bladder/kidney stones can cause a horse to go off feed

Blood poisoning or sepsis can cause a horse to go off of feed

Pain of any sort can cause a horse to go off of feed

Stress

Swallowing difficulties

Respiratory issues

Are you sure it is digestive?  Horses go off feed for a number of reasons.

just picky
recent change in feed
suffering from anxiety
poor dental maintenance
inflammation or abrasion of the esophagus
many illnesses are accompanied by anorexia or refusal of feed

Too many supplements.
Change in supplements.
Abruptly changing to different feed.
Not enough hay.
Boredom.
Pain.
Pneumonia etc

One of my mares I have to put equipride and pasture mineral n a separate feeder. She eats it but was overly given a bunch of supplemts by precious owner. Ugh
She had ulcers and I had a time straightening her out so she will eat FINALLy :0)
She now eats 1 scoop rolled oats
1 cup rice bran
1 cup equipride
1/4 cup loose pasture mineral
Coastal hay a lot :0)
