I do along with rice bran. My vet reccommended it a couple years ago and all my horses look/feel great. I feed ALL my horses Enrich including broodmares, babies and yearlings etc. I do feed alfalfa as my main source of forage as well.

I'm feeding a horse I am keeping for someone Enrich - he only gets 3/4 of a Purina measuring cup twice a day along with brome and he is PIG fat with a VERY healthy coat.

I do. I have a retired easy keeper that doesn't need anything fancy. He gets pasture, hay when its cold, and 2 cups of enrich once/day.

I have a friend who has a horse with a thyroid problem and is a very very easy keeper, and he's on it and does fantastic as well.

I had my horse on it this winter and I really liked it since hes such an easy keeper. Although, he didnt have much fire at the last race of the year I took him to but I think it was his body adjusting comming off of a high sugar/high fat commercial feed. .

Thank you for the replies. Were you able to cut back on grain consumption like they say you can with this? I have one that's a super easy keeper and I'm trying to get some weight off her to start back showing but she always keeps a gut and looks pregnant. My vet rec a really good protein supplement but unfortunately I can't afford it at this time. That's why I started looking at other alternatives.

Yes, my fat easy keepers get nothing else. No grain!

To elaborate a bit, I had one of mine on it years ago and he lost a ton of weight and looked and felt, not great. He didn't have enough grass in his pasture/supplemented hay and he was in a boarding situation at the time and I couldn't change that. I had to put him back on feed to keep his weight and energy up. Now that he's at home, with ample pasture, he gets nothing but enrich just to ensure he's getting all that he needs.

Great thanks so much for the information. I'm hoping this product will help in my situation too. I may have 3 that go on it and quit buying so much grain. One more question. Did the extra protein cause your horse to get hot? I have a mare that can be a handful and I'm not sure if she could handle it.

What do you measure this product out in? I currently use a 3 qt feed scoop. I guess I could buy a regular plastic measuring cup if I would actually feed that small of an amount.

Oh yes and love it. Your feed store should have a measuring cup....it is 1 cup am and 1 cup pm. I mean 1 measuring cup!!! (Don't be surprised if you get the stink eye from your horse with a small amount) Enrich has everything your horse needs.with that amount. Cut my feed bill dramatically! !!This is my 2nd year of feeding all winter and my horses come out of winter with just a bit of a hay belly ( they have a big round bale) and the time it takes to get them in shape for the season is cut in half!!! No i have a couple that will get hot on other feed and they are NOT!!!! If you can find a Purina rep discuss with them what your concerns are and they are extremely knowledgeable and can almost design a feed program for you. You will love it!!! Will not feed anything else but Purina. The help you receive is amazing. Best of luck to you.

I started feeding it about a month ago. I feed grain once a day with free choice hay. So far no complaints. My horses are 24 and 9 and don't get worked much at the moment.
