Like, pull the mats out and full spray down?

So, how many trips do you have per year?  After about how many uses do you do this?

Depends on the floor of the trailer. For wood floors I pull and let everything just dry out every few months. With aluminum, I may do it once a year if that.

If I were using my trailer pretty heavy all week I would pull my mats and hose down, but I also would also pull mats hose and down after a weekend of going, but thats me I dont want all that pee and poop sitting in my trailer and drying out, I like a clear trailer when I laod.
Edit to add; My trailer has Aluminum floors..

Lets just say roughly 2-3 times a month on average. So maybe 30-40 trips per year. We use shavings also.

Wanted to add, we use this cool little trick we learned. If you put down a layer of baking soda under the mats, it helps to soak up anything that leaks through the mats. It's great. A bit of a pain but worth the effort.

I would love to do it more often, but it is such a PITA to pull the mats!  Anyone got any hacks that makes this easier?

I agree. It's not fun at all. I have to make myself do it - usually after weeks of putting it off.
We do have one of these for pulling out the mats. It does help some.

We pull ours out at least 3-4 times a year and wash it out. We use shavings and keep it clean, but the urine can still leak through to the Aluminum floor. The urine causes pitting in the Aluminum. I have a fear of a horse falling through the floor of the trailer. I feel better double checking it. Plus it's a fantastic work out!!! LOL!!!

Once a year in the Fall, when we are pretty much done hauling. It sits clean all through winter. If it's a mild winter and we are able to haul than we powerwash it in the spring too.

This is what I do also. It will start to corrode if you don't and you will have pits and holes in the aluminum. Mine is a 1998 and the floor is in awesome shape because I wash it out fully at least 3 times a year. I also keep shavings in it.

I am going to try this when I pull my mats next month.

Where do you take a trailer to have it acid washed and resealed? The winters are starting to show on the outside.

My mats are super thick and heavy so we use Vise Grips, they are really handy to have around..

I had a Polylast floor put in my 6H, and it's super easy to clean! Shovel everything out every haul, and spray it out with a hose every time we were gone long enough for a horse to urinate. Takes me 10 minutes tops, and there's never any goop built up in the corners or under edges of mats. Love it!

I pull mats out once a year. I gorilla tape the seams of the mat and the crease that is along the wall too. Another trick to pulling mats out by yourself,I cut the mat into two pieces.

I have rumber flooring in my trailer. Best thing ever ! Its grooved so urine runs to back doors and out. I use shavings also to prevent splatter. I pick it clean after each use and when needed, totally strip shavings out, hose down clean, dry and put clean shavings in. I'm ocd about clean trailers.
