anybody know of any solutions to help with this besides regulate and mare majic?  She has a terrible time from like Dec through the spring and I have to put her on stomach meds because it's like she has ulcers and she starts not wanting to enter the alley as easy but once on that she's better. Howvever my chiropractor was out yesterday and she was working on her and when she got over and just below area of ovaries mare got really really witchy and she said her ovaries were painful. You dont ever really know when this mare is in heat as far as you don't see her peeing and all she just gets more witchy than normal. Thanks in advance!

Why no regumate??? My mare was so painful she would bump against her shelter and trailer and literally SCREAM as if she was kicking but just standing there. Put her on regumate and she is beautiful and happy!!!!! Its expensive but so worth it. Mare magic wouldnt even touch the pain or symptoms. You can always have them spaid as a last result.

After having my mare thoroughly examined, I started her on the injectable regumate called Altrenogest. She gets a shot every 12 days. It is a miracle worker. Today, I took her out for a nice trail ride and she would not cross a spot in the trail that had a small (1 foot wide) stream of water covering it. This mare loves water and has crosssd it a million times. But not today...turned into a huge fight until I got her over it. Got home and looked at the calendar and yep she's due for her shot tomorrow. It totally changes her personality.

For mine it was constant bumping of her butt on the side of the trailer, fence, whatever. At its worst she would scream and kick the fence or her shelter ( Just like a witchy mare would if another horse walked behind her, or that scream mares make when you let them touch noses with a horse they don't know). Felt horrible for her. Another friend I know had a mare that bucked her off BAD at a barrel race coming home from 3rd barrel. A solid 1D mare she was! Out of the blue.

I have a mare EXACT same as Flitastic. Regumate is the ONLY thing that worked. Don't even bother with the herbal blends. Waste of money when their symptoms are that severe.
