| So my near side latigo is really long. Like, if I wrap it up a decent length to knot, I've got 5 or 6 layers of leather there. Normal? Advice? I have the far side adjusted to wear my cinch is centered when it's riding tight. |

I have found I have to adjust cinch length quite a bit. I don't like having layer after layer of latigo. Most for me is 3. |

| Your cinch ring in the middle should be centered on the horse's rib cage. There are a lot of other factors. How long is your cinch? How long should your cinch be? How big is your horse? My saddle does not have an offside billet. It has a tie stocking stuffer both sides. That can make a little difference.

| If your cinches center ring is at the center of your horses belly then it is possible your cinch is too long... I like a hand in between the bottom of my saddle pad and the top of my cinches.
I use the weaver smart cinch system so 2 wraps for me. |

Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | Sounds like your cinch may be too long, how long is your cinch? I do mosely 2 wraps. I have seen some latigo's that are really long and need to be cut down, but check your cinch. Do you have a picture that you could show us? |

| I can't seem to upload a picture here, so I used imgur. this is the off side, but you can get a general idea of length and fit here. And on y'all's advice, I have snugged up my flank cinch since this picture was taken.

| If the ring is centered and the cinch is snug in that picture it looks good to me. I'd suggest a shorter latigo. I have to buy the shortest ones I can find because I basically ride a pony. They will also stretch over time and should be replaced regularly anyway or you'll run the risk of one breaking. |

The cinch looks like a good fit, you may just need to cut some of the latigo off.. |
