| I purchased the leg wraps and the saddle pad. I'm thinking of investing in the Hock Boots as well. Anyone out there use these products as well, are you seeing any benefit...I'm a newbie so I think it's too soon for me to really tell if I notice anything...My reason for purchasing from the beginning was, When we buy a horse who is running well with it's previous owner, I try to mirror what they were doing when they owned them. The previous owner was using the leg wraps.
I just like to hear other people's opinions and experiences. Thanks in advance. |

Location: Idaho | Love back on track. Used to use them for one my gelding's that I sold a couple years ago. He would always have swelling on his back legs, would put them on and the swelling would go away!
Also I used them for ME. I broke my back about 3 years ago..and sometimes I will use my quick wraps and lay down on them, take a nap and what a difference! My muscles in my back can actually relax, and it was such a nice feeling to get up without pain! I am a believer, I just need to get around to buying human stuff for me.. and stopping using my horse's stuff lol |

Location: on the fine line between insanity and geniusness | I love BOT. I have blankets, wraps, bell boots, hock boots, human shorts, wrist braces for my fiancé and the throw blanket. I wouldn't make it without my throw blanket. I had a bad car wreck 7 years ago that did a great deal of damage to my spine; the BOT blanket makes all the difference in the world! |

Location: Central Texas | I have the boots, blanket, and saddle pad. I love them! My 15 year old gelding has been running better the past 2-3 years. I have been using the products for that long as well. |

Location: In The Snow, AZ | I recently got hock wraps for my mare. I probably won't use them much in the summer, but I love to throw them on while I brush and saddle. She feels like she warms up quicker after using them. Might be my imagination though. Regardless, I feel good about using them.
I use the knee brace. I've always had knee problems but it really flares up after I ride. In recent months it has gotten to where my right knee will basically give out. I put the knee brace on at night for a couple hours and sometimes sleep with it on. Always ALWAYS makes it feel better and keeps inflammation down.

Location: chasing kids and animals | This is gonna be a dumb question but bare with me as I am new to using BOT. When I haul to Ok at end of the month ( approx 10 hr haul ) Do you suggest that I leave her BOT blanket on her the entire time to help reduce stress and muscle soreness?

That would depend, to me, on whether you have the fleece blanket or the mesh sheet. I haul mine in their blankets, but mine are the mesh. Just make sure your horse doesn't get too warm. I always feel like mine come off the trailer fresh and relaxed when they wear theirs. |

Location: Mi | I've used back on track for along time, have seen results and have been very happy with everything I've used. I've slept with a mini blanket on my pillow for 6 years now and it has reduced the amount of headache I get and my chiroprator visits greatly. I have a dog bed in the barn and the dogs and cats fight over it and eventually just deal with eachtoher so they can all be on it lol I've used the mesh sheet, turn out sheet, quick wraps, neck cover, no bows, bell boots, pad liner and hock boots with sucess...recently ordered a pair of knee boots. I tried a different therapy blanket this past summer because I was worried about my horse potentially getting to hot with the BOT on (had never had a porblem but started to over think it) and she ended up so body sore, lived in the BOT blanket for about a week and she was as good as new. Even in the summers here in Michigan I use them all and have never had my horse get to hot. I won't put them on it the middle of the day when its 90 and stand them in the sun, but I in the shade or something like that I've never had one get to hot. |

Location: Wild Wild West | I just had my mare's hocks and rear ankles injected and my vet recommended I get some BOT boots and put them on her a few hours before I run her. Then ice boots after. But since he recommended them I bought them. Haven't had them long enough to have an opinion on how effective they are yet, but from everyone else's opinions they sound like a good investment. |

You can use them before and after. Or before you run then use ice or cold water after. |

| Am I the only one who thinks that back on track may just be some silly pseudoscience? I brought a human product to try before considering if it'd be worth it for horses. Using it religiously as instructed, I can't honestly say I've noticed any difference for the better - maybe only worse actually, as my body would just depend on the brace now instead. Maybe I need to give it more time but I was just wondering if anyone else felt the same. . . |

Location: North Dakota | I have the quick wraps and I love them.
I tried the hock wraps with Red and he just HATED having them on, so I sold them. (Was more a quirk of his, than the product not working.)
I used to think they were a bunch of "voodoo" too and I was wasting my money ..... until
(1) I don't stall overnight very often so Red will stock up when he is stalled over night (he is used to being turned out 24/7). I do get him out at least every 2 hours to hand walk for about 15 minutes. I tried putting his BOT quick wraps on, and there was no swelling when I checked on him to walk him. I put him back in the stall and then a couple hours later ... SWOLLEN. Put the wraps back on and no swelling at his next check. That made me a believer.
(2) His one back leg was swollen from a weird and nasty case of scratches. Put the BOT wraps on during our 1 1/2 hour trailer ride to the vet and his leg looked normal when we arrived.
And there's been numerous other instances where I've used the wraps when the horses have had a bit of swelling and it is amazing how quickly it takes the swelling down. I don't know how it does it, but it does it!
My only "complaint" of them is that I use them very sparingly when it is hot outside. While they don't necessarily generate heat, they are thick wraps and it is simply going to be hotter than bare legs.
I'd love to get a blanket too but I havn't been able to justify the price yet.

I am not really into the BOT. I think if your horse has an issue they may be helpful but as a preventative, probably not.
I had to laugh, at Dixie Nationals, some little girl had BOT boots on her horse's legs that came all the way up to the horse's body--long ones, and a sheet on the horse. She was parading the horse up and down the aisle where our stalls were when I was brushing my horse. (we had the only stalls on the entire aisle) My horse won Jr Barrels and the same girl walked by when we were having a picture made. What a snarl on that kid's face. just thought it was pretty funny. |
