| I really like a Jim warner cause you can get some rate and set, but also keep that bend! |

Location: In the Hills of Texas | The Ugly hack and the Jim Warner...short shanked. I also had good luck with the Steivers combo hack with the chain mouth piece. Depends on the horse for me. |

Location: Where I am happiest | Thank you all for your input. This horse has a little bit ( according to the vet ) of TMJ going on and his first barrel is hit or miss. You can NOT touch him running to the first or he just shakes his head and goes by. If we don't touch him at all, he'll wrap it 80% of the time. So figured maybe he would like a hackamore better to eleviate the pressure on his mouth with the slight TMJ. So we just ordered both the Bozo and Jim Warner short shank rope nose. We'll see how it goes or which one he likes better. If any. lol

I would be getting his TMJ problem fixed. |

| My Bozo hack fell apart the first run I made in it. Scary when your hack falls apart on the first barrel . .
I use Stivers and JW, I'll use both on the same horse and see which one the horse works best in. |

Clampitt hack
The Clampitt hack looks interesting to me. What type of horses work well in it, and what makes a person decide to take the bit out of their mouth? I'm not a hack person, so any information is useful. |

First use was on an ex race horse. She was way calmer than with any bit. I've ridden several in it. |

Thanks. I'm thinking about one for an ex-racehorse as well, and possibly for an older gelding just to give his mouth a break. Still have plenty of whoa if you need it? |
