| Hard question to answer. They are a custom made saddle. I've had Larry build several and he has adjusted little things on every tree to make them all fit different. My horses range from long and racy to short and stocky cow pony types. |

If you are asking about a larry coats saddle then each saddle is going to fit differently because it was made for a specific horse. If you are asking about Lazy L saddles then those ssaddles are going to be a standard 6 3/4 gullet with standard qtr horse bars.
If you are interested in a certain Coats or Lazy L saddle call Coats and ask about the saddle. They should be able to give you information on finding out what tree is in each saddle. |

Location: Texas | I had a Lazy L and had to sell it because it didn't fit my new mare, who is wide back and has little to no withers. My question is and this may be a dumb question, does the flextree flex out wide or laterally? I LOVED my Lazy L and miss it terribly. I'm in a treeless and going back to a treed saddled, but trying to research as much as I can. Sorry and don't mean to hi-jack the OP's thread. In my opinion the Lazy L fit like the above post, more narrow made horses or horses with higher withers. |

Flex trees only move about 1/8 of an inch IF THAT when the horse is moving. They don't move drastically. If a flex tree doesn't fit, it doesn't fit. It won't flex around the horse to fit.
It's made so that certain movements that would normally snap a tree, won't snap a flex tree.

I find my Lazy L fits the wider horses better then my Coats Original standard and my Coats Original flex... all 3 of my Coats fits different horses, and I have five 5 star pads of different thickness to accomidate which saddle on which horse. |

Correct. but again, these are Standard. if you are looking at a used saddle it may have been made specifically for another horse. Which means it could have a different tree in it. This is why I suggested calling them to confirm the specifications of the saddle before purchase.  |

Location: Where the long tails flow, ND | My Coats fits my tank of a mare perfect. I bought used, and called Larry to get the specs before I purchased. And I can't remember what they are off the top of my head of course.... but I love it!
