Does anyone know any information on these blankets? Bemer blankets they are called.... They are the newest thing I've been seeing every where. I would like to know what they actually do scientifically. All I hear is energy and circulation. Not sure if there is more involved. Here is a video. https://youtu.be/UnJTDa02MXA

They are super expensive! I think around $5000.00 Things just keep getting higher and higher! Even if they work still expensive!

While they are expensive, where is the scientific data on it?  If you go to their web page, I can't find it?  Any studies done by reputable people/universities?

Here is a link to a study done on human patients. They did a double blind, placebo controlled trial. (the best way to do this) They performed the treatment twice daily for 12 weeks. At 6 weeks they could not show any statistically significant results. They had to go out to 12 weeks to show any positive effect of any significance. It did then show a small amount of benefit. But...they did have a significant placebo effect as well.

Does it work..well...technically they did show some benefits after 12 weeks of twice daily use...but not enough for me to want to fork over that much cash.

One of my points.  It is advertised to use before competition.  To make your performace enhanced.  I guess you had to use it 12 weeks first.

I know these work. I used one once and we made a great run.
My horse licked his lips and smiled afterwards. Definitely a worthwhile investment at $5000.00.

The Bemer blanket is a form of PEMF. Research PEMF and you'll find all sorts of clinical studies.

You can rent a Magna Wave for the month cheaper than the blanket costs. I'd go that route.

I had a lady try one on my horses. I didn't see any difference. I would have kept trying it but I researched and researched the therapy but couldn't find enough scientific evidence behind the therapy. Would love to see more studies!

I know magnawave is high frequency and bemer and Centurion blankets are low frequency.... But which is better? I think magnawave is in the middle of getting FDA approval though... That is what the spokes guy said.

What issue are you trying to fix? Did the horse have an injury? Body sore from use? You want one to just do therapy?

If an injury I'd recommend just go getting them thumped (shock wave). I'm sure I'll get flamed for that but I'm just not a crystals and incense person. Most people aren't set up well to follow a recovery protocol and there are so many swimming, therapy, and rehab centers now that you usually find a reasonably priced one in your area. Lots of people get like a "trailer train" together and send their horses to outlaw equine by splitting fuel with each other.

5k is a lot to shell out on a blanket that may have benefits....magna wave is something you can visibly see and feel working if you get a session yourself.

I agree about the magnawave. My horse has a sacroiliac injury I've been rehabbing her for the last year caused by a fractured pelvis.
