Location: Armuchee, GA, NW section of Ga | I was cleaning up my tack room and happened upon a bridle that was sorta pushed out of sight. Nice thick leather too. The leather is dry and desperately needs some TLC. I tried washing the leather with warm water really well, then applied leather soap/cleaner and hung up to dry over night. Today when I looked it over it looked better but was very dry and hard. Other than saddle soap is there anything special I can do to save this bridle and soften it up. TIA |

| I like neatsfoot oil for new or neglected leather, and lederbalsm for regular "needs moisture". Neatsfoot will darken leather. |

| Extra virgin olive oil. Cheap and works great! A saddle maker told me about it and now it's all I use. |

Location: on the fine line between insanity and geniusness | I oil all my saddles and tack 3-5 times a year with extra virgin olive oil. Super easy- just dust it off and paint it on with a brush or paint sponge. Dry leather will DRINK IT! |

| Scrub it with some warm water and glycerin saddle soap. Let it dry then apply Hydrophane leather conditioner, keep applying it until it won't soak any more up. I have tack that is literally going on 30 years old that it is used all the time and this keeps it nice as new |

Location: Dubach, LA | Buy a gallon of cheap veggie oil. Put the headestall in a plastic container with a lid. Cover with oil. Let it sit for a couple of days. |

I use this, several light coats with dry time between. Aussie or Bick4 are good too |

Location: Where you need a paddle... Oregon! | I've used neatsfoot oil, coconut oil, and olive oil. I like to put it in a plastic or metal container and cover it with oil and leave it a day or two. If it's winter I especially like to put it in the house in front of the wood stove. |
