I am curious as to what other people are feeding their broodmares? What type of grain? Any vitamin/mineral supplements? What type of hay and how much?

We just bought a mare with a 2 month old colt. We are feeding 4-5 lbs alfalfa pellets and THE Muscle Mass. The mare belongs to my parents. The colt gets about 1lb alfalfa pellets and .5lb Renew Gold in a creep feeder. If he finishes it by the next feeding then he gets the same thing again. They have free choice horse quality coastal and 1 larger flake of alfalfa everyday. Minimal grazing since we haven't had much rain.

I feed mine three to four pounds of a 14% pellet morning and evening. I put out ADM GRO STRONG minerals free choice. Prenatal care and excellent care the first year of life are essential to proper development.

She gets the same as the rest. Renew Gold and Omnis. I did add some calf manna in the last couple of months last time she got a baby. But not sure if I will do so this time around.
