| I was just booted out of my Facebook as I was using it. I've been unable to recovery it by changing the password......I've changed the password 5x and it still won't let me back in. Anyone have any experience with this and have any luck recovering your account? |

Location: Texas | That happened to me once a few years ago. I ended up being given the option of verifying my identity by providing a photocopy of my driver's license to be able to recover my account... I opted to just make a new one. |

I tried uploading an ID, but they told me the account wasn't disabled......so they wouldn't accept my upload? |

| If it makes you feel any better my request to join THE barrel racing group in my area was not only turned down, but I was blocked or banned or whatever you call it from asking an admin what the deal was.  I guess I ****ed somebody off. Facebook is such a mess. |

Isn't there an option to store your CC information on Facebook? Like to purchase things.....? I know you can send money through Messenger now. Maybe that's why?
This person changed my name to all Chinese characters. I had a friend who had the same thing happen to him, and his name was changed to these Chinese characters. Makes no sense to me. I flagged the account as compromised and Facebook appears to have taken my page down. Which I am regretting, because now I can't even go on my husbands profile to go save all my pictures :(
I've had no luck accessing it. Everything I try takes me to the "Enter your 3 of 5 trusted contacts" and I never chose any trusted contacts. If you have a facebook page, I would highly suggest going into your privacy settings and selecting 5 friends they will send a code to if your page gets hacked. |

Location: The best kept secret in TX | Most of the time hackers will pose as you and try and sell people things using your name. In theory people are more apt to buy from people they know.
Sometimes people will hack and send out links waiting for someone to click on the link and when they do the hackers have full access to their computers.
Always Always Always check the source of any news story before clicking on it. If it isn't a recognizable source then I don't click. This is how hackers get your password info and hack your account. The stories that circulate that make you click through multiple pages of information to read the whole story are another way hackers get into your facebook account.
You can also go into your settings and see exactly where your account is open. It will tell you the name, IP address and location of your facebook account that is open and being used. If you click and close out of them the hackers have to hack your password again in order to get your account. disconnect every computer but the one you are using and change your password. Don't click on fake news stories and stay away from sketchy pages. Make your account to where people can't even search for oyu in the search bar without having at least one mutual friend. it will cut down on the number of fake accounts that try and friend you. I would also suggest removing your birthday, middle name, and address from your facebook. Knock on wood I have never been hacked. I have a 22 digit password with upper case lower case and numbers mixed in.
You may also want to fill out your Legacy Contact should anything happen to you so your facebook page can be turned into a memorial page later.
I've attached pictures of what the screen looks like for each setting to be changed. You can also manage ads on your facebook to cut down on spam and hacker ads.
