My best friend is 44years old and has been battling cancer for 14years.It started as breast cancer but was already in her lungs. This past week she took a turn for the worst. She has to start very aggressive chemo again this week.
My question is what can I cook for her or get her that she may eat easily?I've been taking care of everything on her farm and she has three young daughters and a husband that has to work as much as possible.I know she got really sick the last time and I understand when you're sick you don't want to eat.But I need to help keep her strong so I would love suggestions.thanks in advance.

I second the ensures or boosts. They make clear ensures too if she doesn't like the milky ones. We put ice cream in the milky ones and make shakes for our patients :

I would ask her what she feels like eating. Chemo screws up your taste so bad.

My mom wanted to eat ice cream, just vanilla. Lots of smells would make her sick, I made soup and she couldn't stand the smell, I had to take it off the stove.  I would just ask her if anything sounds like she could eat it.  I made a salad one night and my mom loved it, ate a bunch, who knew?  Bless you for being such a good friend.

God bless you for being such a wonderful friend. When my grandfather was taking chemo he only wanted sweets. I know it wasn't the best thing for him to eat, but we were trying to get calories in him anyway we could. He said nothing tasted like it should, so I agree with asking her if there's anything she thinks would taste good. Prayers for her and her family. And for you.

This would be good to have on hand for the calorie content.

No other advice than what is given, just good thoughts and prayers for your friend and you - bless you for being there for the family, I am sure they appreciate it beyond words.

Everybody is so different.  I don't mean to gross anyone out here but I had trouble swallowing.  What I wanted was Spam on dry bread and cokes.  I hadn't had a coke in probably five years.  So many things smelled and tasted bad.  I would let her tell you what she would like to try.  After she tastes it it may not work for her.  I also had a wonderful friend that would make me a shrimp and noodle casserole that I really liked.  During chemo is not always a good time to try to offer "good for you foods."  No matter how hard I tried I couldn't eat what was good for me.  Whatever she can get down will at least give her some sustanence.  Bless your heart for helping these friends that are struggling with more than most can understand.  My prayers for this lady, her husband and you.
