Location: Ohio girl moved to PA | Anyone have any real experience with this stuff? I've looked for days and all I can find is what's from the dealer. I want to hear a real result and not a test. I want to hear from a real rider. Does it work? waste of money? If not, what do you prefer/like better/recommend? WHERE IS THE INFO????

| I have used it on several horses over the last 3 years. I first started my daughters pole horse on it because she was starting to act like she was getting stiff and sore in her hocks. She never refused the gate but was starting to get anxious about it. In 2 weeks she went back to walking through the gate calmly and her times got fast again. She was faster in barrels too and she hates barrels . We also put a friends horse on it who had gotten hurt on a front leg and after fighting it a while the vet told them to retire her. They were not ready to give up on her and we put her on the supplement she came back faster and is a solid 1D horse for the last couple years, she is older too 17 so I was pretty impressed with her results. I use it on several other horses who didn't really have any issues just used it to keep them in good shape. It is by far the best feed through I have ever used and I have used a lot of them over the years. It cost about $50 a month, my husband uses the human formula and it has really helped him too. |

That's absolutley awesome! My main barrel horse is slowing down, hes refusing to load, and hes picking up some nasty gate issues so obviously i know hes starting to get sore somewhere. Everyone is saying hocks and i agree, especially because he's not powering from behind anymore and is hardly getting under himself. This isnt like him at all so once I get him looked at i want to get him on something depending on the problem and want to have options open. Thanks for the response! |

| Actistatin Equine is made by the same company as GLC 5500. It is their upgrade product. I have fed both. Have had great success with both. Anything/everything I have that I am using will be on Actistatin Equine from here on. Best stuff I have ever used. The long time toe-dragger (7 year old rodeo/1D) stopped dragging his toes completely. The one the vets "aren't sure what's going on with" (4 year old n training) went back to working after a few weeks on it. The statin eliminates the need for a loading dose. Cannot say enough good about it. Hope you enjoy the same results. |

That's awesome! I'm loving the good stories. I'm curious though, what made you choose the actistatin over the GLC 5500? They seem to be the same price all over. Is there something in it you like better or get more of? I have another horse that ill be picking up from the trainers this weekend and he's an older guy (12) so i know he's going to be needing something to keep him feeling good. He's got a bit of navicular changes going on now so he's currently on isox. Just wondering if this would benefit him. |

We must get the same emails! I started one horse on this and he has not been on it long enough to see results. Reviews were excellent. I think it is big in the English world and has not made the cross over yet. Same thing is true with FINISH LINE PRODUCTS. Some of them are really good. |

A racetrack vet I know recommends this too. I was using Cosequin ASU+ and he told me I was wasting my money. He said that they see crazy results with it and it's cheap (comparatively) to others. I'm going to give it a try. |

hmmm maybe thats something i'll have to give a try. I would prefer a liquid as my one picky eater has a problem cleaning up his dry supplements. The price isnt an issue as i will spend money on a product that works and is actually worth it. But, i have heard a lot of people saying a feed through joint supplement is a waste so i just wants to get something that actually works! |

| The Actistatin version has an ingredient that carries it to the hind gut before its digested which is more efficient for the absorption and use into the bloodstream. This is why it has lower amounts of the same ingredients and is still as effective without requiring a loading dose. It used to be sold only through vets because of this, but can now be ordered without a prescription. |

Location: North Dakota | GLC 5500 did nothing for my older gelding when I put him on it about 3-4 years ago. I had just decided to retire him and wanted him to stay feeling good into retirement. He was stiff and not sound after starting the product so it didn't help keep him comfy with his arthritis so I took him off of it and started Cur-OST. He was on it in total for about a year from when I started him on it when we were just finishing running to when I took him off and started Cur-OST. I had him on Smartpak's SmartComboUltra for years and years while I was using him but someone convinced me to try GLC and it did him no favors. Maybe as a preventative but for a horse who already had arthritis Smartpak did better for him and even better on Cur-OST.
Cur-OST had him running around and enjoying retirement in less than two weeks.
He now maintains on Tumeric-- thank goodness cause I couldn't afford Cur-OST this past semester while in school. |

2 TBS once daily on his feed. I buy starwest botanicals brand because they are reputable. I find it at my local health food store for about $10 for 1lb. Last him about a month or so. I also add 10 grinds of black pepper and the fat needed for it comes from his 1lb of Rice bran he eats with it. |

dang! youre the first person that ive heard say it did nothing, neither of my horses have arthritis, they are just currently running and i want to keep them feeling good. I cant afford the Cur-OST for 2 horses, even though ive heard nothing but great reviews about it, its just not in my budget right now. hmm i have a super picky eater, im curious if he would even touch the tumeric. Do you have any picky eaters on it? |

This ^^^ I have fed actiflex for a very long time with great results. No better joint supplement for the price.
I jumped on the big d's deal. I wanted some smaller bottles anyways and I got a 128 day supply for $72. Saved $10 off buying the gallon. Either way you can't beat it.
I stumbled upon this article a few days ago. It's really good. It doesn't feature actiflex but if you compare their suggestions to the ingredients and amounts in actiflex is passes everything except msm, which I feed animed msm as well.
