Hope this is allowed, just sharing this unfortunate situation for the horse owner. I know any donations would be greatly appreciated!

As a side note, please make sure anyone you hire to haul your horse is properly insured. This is sad proof of what can happen when they are not, and there are far too many "professional" horse haulers advertising out there who don't actually have any coverage for the animals they're transporting.

How horribly sad for this poor horse, if I was this lady I would be making sure this shipper is refunding my money so the payment would go for this horses surgery,

Bumping up for the morning crew...According to the Go Fund Me page, Pesto's story has been shared on Facebook 284 times now. If just 1 person had donated $14 or $15 each time it's been shared they would be at their goal! Please continue to share and donate if you're able. No amount is too small!

The shipper should be paying up for the mistake their hired driver did by using an uninsured trailer without their consent. Was this a commercial shipper or just someone hauling horses on the side. They should have quickly refunded the shipping cost and paying up for the rest to avoid getting sued, which could cost them much more.

I know this Horse Owner is in a time constraint, waiting on gofundme might take some time. Most banks will do a signature loan for that amount. At least she would have the cash to get the surgery done.

You can bet I would be taking the shipper to court. You can also bet that I wouldn't have to pay a dime for any legal fees or damages cause by this shipper.
Always do your homework. If they're insured, cross check. Don't just take their word.
Prayers sent to the owner of Pesto.
