Location: SW North Dakota | I posted a while ago about hot weather hauling to TN for the NJHRF, but wanted to give a quick update. Our home raised, no name mare and my "icewater-in-her-veins" daughter were the RESERVE CHAMPION Pole Benders at the national Junior High Rodeo Finals last week. She ran her personal best time, and had 3 20 second runs. Not too bad for a ND team that's never been south of Rapid City! Although there were some challenges with the weather and the facility, Ell seized her opportunity to show the world what a plain bay ranch horse could do! I'm so proud of both of them, I just wanted the world to know! |

I have all the videos, just have to get them to youtube or something that will be easier to share! I didn't take many pics, but some of the other moms did, and I bought the RodeoPixs package, but had to have it mailed so I'd have the short go stuff, too. SO dang excited for them! |

We gave her 10cc of EquiSure every night, then OE Nitro and Revive on competition days. She just gets a little oats and renew gold with about 4-5 feedings of grass hay per day while we were there- she's on pasture at home. |

LOL! Giz is like the Honey Badger. She "don't give a sh*t!" She actually gained weight down there. We hauled in 13" of mulch to try to keep her ghetto stall dry, and it worked well until Friday night. She took everything like a champ, and strolled out to the pasture like nothing happened when we got home. HA! |

There is definitely something admirable about the ones who just roll with the punches! I've seen several complaints about the facility...
ETA just googled and saw they're in Huran SD the next 2 years! Much less of an jaunt for you!

It's in Huron, SD for the next two years, then back to Des Moines in 2020. |

Thanks, I was debating on getting some more Equi-sure just for our heat waves down here. I have a couple that just sweat and get grumpy in our high heat/humidity down here. I thought it was working before I ran out and wanted to hear someone else's experience with it for heat. |

Location: Willows, CA | The High School Rodeo National finals were a special time for my family. Our two daughters qualified from CA five times. What an amazing organization to keep that so many kids scheduled out and, overall, focused on the event. It looks like you will have a lot more travels out of the state in the coming years. Lots of great memories to make. Gillette is a great facility.
Thanks for using RG.
