I take alondronate and 1200 mg of calcium. Martha Josey was taking a medicine that was an injection. I cannot remember the name but the last syllable was clast. I will think of it in a little while. You do not want to take that. It caused her to have to have a hip replacement.

Reclast is what Martha took. The stuff I take must be working because I got bucked off Sunday with nothing broken. Of course I did land on my head though. Laughing. Says something for wearing a helmet. I think I did make it for 8 seconds!

Alondronate helps your bones absorb the calcium from your blood. Normally, you build a new skeleton every 4 years.

I would say im happy you landed on your head but that doesn't sound very nice at all!! Glad you are ok.Thanks for the info.if I can get the parathyroid to stop drawing the calcium from bones and stop overloading my blood I will be happy.High doses of calcium in the blood do bad things to you,and it's very scary.THANKS :)

Ditto on this.

The k2 and mag are just as important as the vitamin D

I read up on K2. seems it comes from fermented foods. Sounds good to me, think I will have a glass of wine before bed.

I have it.  I take a shot every 6 months - Prolia.  And in 3 injections it has increased my bone density.  I also take OTC vitamin D, B12, calcium and magnesium.  Iknow that walking is a good way to build bone.

When I broke both wrists in April I was concerned about future use.  I got on and rode for the first time Monday.  I feel great, just a little out of shape.

The vitamin D helps alot with bone pain, especially in your legs.  Take it twice a day.

My vit D is a huge dose one a weekI will look into vitk and magnesium bit right now my main needed vitamins are being pulled from my bones and making it to high in my blood:(so I gotta find out what's going on with my parathyroid and if I have a tumor or tumors there:( I want to thank everyone for this because it gives me questions for my doctor's.I will say to much calcium in your blood makes you feel like you are going to die and actually can be fatal so im being checked weekly

I will have to look at the Vit K.   I also take the Vit D once a week, plus a daily.  Mine is so low.   I also have thyroid problems.  LOL

People don't understand that your pituatary and thyroid control everything in your body. If they are screwed up then everything is screed up. Hopefully if they get that fixed everything will improve

Look for  natural ways to increase bone density.  The various drugs doctors prescribe can have dangerous side effects.  Google them and see for yourself.  That includes Prolia.

Exercise, calcium heavy diet, and natural supplements.....stay away from sugary drinks.
