Good advertising will sell a horse regardless of where you post them. Do you have really great pics? Pictures that would make you stop, look and read the ad among the thousands of other horses listed for sale? Do you have a price listed? Most people will not bother to inquire if there is not a price. Is your price truly reasonable for the horses credentials? If you have any questions about this, ask someone who knows, who sells horses often, and whose opinion you trust.

As someone who buys/sells horses somewhat often. These are the 2 biggest reasons I see that people have a hard time. I buy amazing bargains all the time because people post really crappy pictures of them and no one else will bother to go look at the horse in person. Or people post decent horses and just expect to get a lot more than they are actually worth.

Beyond that it's always good to list all pertinent info and have videos available. If the horse is finished have verifiable stats available. If you try to BS an ad, most people are google savvy enough these days to see that. Not saying you've tried to do that, I haven't seen your ad. I just see it happen a lot.

I advertise on BHW and Facebook. That's it. Good luck! :)

Dreamhorse, Craigslist (I know that some people think this is only for "crap" horses but when I first got back into riding I didn't know about all the other sites and I think others are the same way), tons of FB groups, local associations like BRN4D etc (whatever is in your area). Those are all the places I check. Also, if you have a quality horse but just aren't a good marketer, you could look into using a broker.....I usually check some of the reputable broker's websites.

BHW and Facebook.

Those are the only locations I list horses for sale.
Those are also the only sites that I look for purchase.

Good luck.

BHW for the duration of the ad. If no one resonds or purchases I move to Facebook.

Thanks for all the info. I have very good pictures of the horse I'm selling (clear and bright with her standing square and she is all clean and shiney). I try to list all the important things including what she does, who trained her and her eligibilites. This one isn't yet started on the pattern yet so no stats or anything. I do have videos for those who wish to see them. Should I go ahead and put them on the ad(s)? Also, I tried to price her where other horses similar are selling...of course everyone has their own opinions on bloodlines (like this horse's bloodlines are more popular in Canada I'm finding out).

But I have her on FB, Craigslist, EquineNow, DreamHorse and HorseClicks (basically all the free sites) before I try the paid for sites (such as BHW again). I love to look on BHW for horses, so I thought when I posted my first horse for sale on here I would have wonderful response...not a single response and he ended up selling off of Craigslist...actually the last 2 horses I sold the people responded from Craigslist.

BTW, I do use Google myself when looking up horse stats when I'm looking at a finished horse, LOL.

If the horse is currently listed on BHW, post the link and let us check it out. What you may think are good photos, may not be good to others and what not. Just a thought.
ETA-I've only used BHW and Facebook with great success. I put them on both sites the same day.

Thanks for all the help. After I asked I posted her on FB, I actually have someone off of FB that thinks she wants my filly, and she contacted me the first day she was on there. The other places I still haven't had any response from, but in our business people aren't out looking or buying either. So I hope she'll come through!
