I bought a used saddle recently online. It was advertised as an older Merrill and looked like it from the pictures. I see now it is an older Diamond M Barrel saddle. There's hardly any information on these that I can find online. I like the saddle. It's 24 lbs. and fits and rides just like the Merrill flex tree I have. Can anyone tell me anything about Diamond M saddles? I read it has a Kevlar tree.

To my knowledge the Diamond M is the pre-Merrill, before they called it a Merrill, but it had the same saddle designer.

The first Merrills were made by Diamond M.

Diamond M was the saddle maker in Vernal Utah Neil Merrill used to make the Merrill saddles before Three Forks. My saddle made in 2002 was started by Diamond M and I waited a year and and that time Niel moved the saddle making to Three Forks Saddlery in Montana.
