Some of you may be keeping tabs on me and my horse, specifically me ranting about how I want to sell him but I wanted to update you from the last thread of me mentioning us going to a trainer and how that went. I believe we have seen the light!! The trainer noticed how my horse wasn't leading with his nose, more with his shoulders and I couldn't believe I was so blind! Side note; I am not a new trainer, I've trained older horses and colts successfully, but I often ride alone, and after riding alone for so many years on one horse I think I just overlooked the small things until they all snowballed into a big problem and I didn't realize it until now. That's one good way to get your pride beaten down and being humble lol.
So what we've been doing the past week is working on following his nose, just in a snaffle and loose-ish split reins, walking and trotting in the arena or on trail. I'm also noticing what the difference is between feeling that he's truly following his nose vs having his nose in but still leading with his shoulders.
I'm a big fan of cutting and I'm incorporating some cutting training techniques and they're helping me a lot but I was hoping some of you may have some tips coming from a cutting back ground or videos that may help.

I will be of no help, I just wanted to say I am happy you may be turning a corner with your horse. I am in a similar situation with a couple of mine and new ways of looking at things and new things to try have me excited again about my horses.
Good Luck and keep up us updated
