and then there's all this government fuss going on about it. With Korea looming over us. The government needs to get together and handle this as one government and we as a nation need to be able to get it together as one nation. |

There is no Korea looming over us. There never was.

The Liberals, and some Republicans will never let any of this happen. I have multiple friends who associate with the Liberal party. And most have changed to "Independent" after recent events and me urging them to research.
It's truly sad that people in Governemnet THAT WE APPOINTED would rather hold on to their pride than help the people who elected them or their President.
Alls I can say is this: The presidential election is not the most important election. Be active in your goverment. Be aware of who you vote into any office. It affects everything. People you appoint are allowed to appoint others in certain situations. Do your research, look at the whole picture. Just because we have a President willing to stand up for us instead of back down doesn't mean that we can. We need the entire government backing him. We appoint most of that government. Just my two cents.... |

Location: Missouri | My opinion is that it's horrible that a piece's of history are being torn down all around because certain people suddenly don't like what they represent. If you were born in America, this is your history. The good and the bad. We cannot put our heads in the sand and pretend the civil war never happened. It may not have been a glorious time in our history but it belongs to us all, no matter your color or what part of this nation you grew up in. It is also my opinion that protesting has totally gotten out of hand since the Micheal Brown ordeal in Ferguson, which is where I grew up, in the Ferguson/Florrisant area and school district. It was and still is fear and lack of government support to our officers in blue. They stand back helpless to step in on a racial issue, such as black v white or cop v criminal. It makes me sick that the new norm is violence. |

Location: Kansas | Especially disturbing to watch vandals topple the Confederate statue, then kick it (and how smart are you when you kick a piece of metal with your foot). Good, bad, or indifferent the Civil War was part of our history and the men who fought it, on both sides, have a right to be remembered with respect....as does the Confederate flag.
I still believe George Soros money is behind these evil riots.

While I find the destruction of the statues disgusting, I am much more concerned that that a sick individual would drive a vehicle into a group of protesters because they happened to have an opposing point of view. I mean come on we are talking about taking a human life. I will never comprehend where that kind of violence and hatred come from. |

Location: Arkansas | I just wonder what would have happened/been said if certain groups would have pulled a MLK statue down. . . . Someone finds something offensive about every monument---do we tear them all down?? It's our history, end of discussion. Tearing them down doesn't change that. And you know what they say about a country that forgets its history. I'm Southern to the core, and I find it beyond irritating that our heritage is being attacked over and over and yet people are shocked when we push back. (In no way do I condone what happened to the young lady or identity with white supremacist, etc.) |

Anyone taking part in this kind of mindless, vicious destruction has to know their life may be in danger.
