| It happens from time to time. The vet told my sister sometimes they hide, lol. |

| Not going to guess because this happens frequently, but my mare was bred ate May and is a lot bigger |

| Ours was missed last year around 28 days, the mare came back to us very thin after being leased (like I put her in the back pasture to hide her until she looked presentable kind of thin) so I'm not sure if that played a factor in the vet not being able to find it or not. She put on weight pretty steadily back at home and started looking a little "thick" in January so we took her in and sure enough she was bred and foaled June 2nd. |

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | I would expect a bit more drop in her belly and fuller flanks. I have one bred in June and she is quite a bit fuller. One bred late June and she is a bit fuller too. But I have had mares look open and foal and ones that looked bred that were open. So prayers and happy thoughts that your girl is indeed bred

| Happened to me. Had my mare ultrasounded at 4 weeks to the date after being bred. Vet said it looked like there had been something but it appeared she was reabsorbing it. It was a late breeding (July) anyway so figured I'd wait and try it again the following year. Come January I pull my mare's blanket (which I do at least once a week in the winter time) and she looks awfully chubby for January (very hard keeper). Luckily that year I had some alfalfa I had been feeding her and she was holding her weight well. But I had the vet out because she was way chubby for her that time of year. You got it - there was a foal. Had a healthy colt, born on his due date. |

She may be wind sucking causing her to have a big gut, did the vet say anything about this? |

Never thought of this! No he didn't...and I never hear her. Altho she's quirky enough it wouldn't surprise me? Thanks for input! |

| Thank you:). Honestly it's ok- I originally flushed her so I could Derby her next year, so really we are back where we started! |
