So.. I have a horse who LOVEESS dogs. But, I also have a horse who hates dogs and will go out of his way to "make them move" He has kicked or trampled just about every dog who's not able to move in time. I'm afraid he may end up killing one before long. Can you do anything about it? I've been around horses al my life and have never had this problem before.

I have no answer to the problem, but our big Paint hates dogs with a passion. Before we got him, he was a dog "person". However, when we trail rode in certain areas, we would get chased by dogs. Sean used Sonny as the "wall" between the rest of our crew and the dogs---he used Sonny to push them back while the rest of us rode past. We're guessing this is the reason he can't stand them now. Even if one of our dogs goes to the barn with us, they better stay under something or outside the fence---he comes at them like a bull at a red cape. . . .I hate that we did this to him, but we thought it was our only option back when we were riding.

Not much you can do about it but try to keep the dogs out of his way.

It makes me extremely nervous, with our dogs being so used to the other horses I hate seeing them get hurt by this one otherwise awesome horse. I'm gonna end up having a heart attack

You could start by leading him and jumping his butt when he makes ugly faces at a dog. My confirmed dog killer donkey eventually got used to the farm dogs, but will still attack strange dogs or coyotes.

Some horses just do not like dogs. I had a mare that hated them, and would chase the dogs through the pasture. Not really much you can do about it.

My girls absolutely love the barns cats, and loves to "scratch" momma kitty belly when she flops over in front of them.

I have one the same way, owned him for 15 years and he has never changed.   Sometimes he will tolerate them and sometimes he will go after them, even if the dog is just laying down minding his own business.   All my dogs have learned to steer clear of him.

I have a dog hater too.  People bring their little pocket dogs to the arena and let them run around, and I'm afraid one day he is going to get one.  Our dog knows to be careful around him, but she still likes to tease him once in a while.  I'm glad I don't have the only one!
