Looking for opinions on the best lameness vets in the Midwest. I have a special case and the 2 vets I went by couldn't give me an answer as to why my gelding is lame

You might get more response if you give a more specific area. I use Oakridge Equine in Edmond, OK for lameness issues. Not sure if that's anywhere close to you, but if it is I would definitely recommend them. All of the vets there are great.

I go to Brad King in Anderson, IN for mine or Wisconsin Equine Clinic. Depends on what area of midwest you're talking about. Dr Monfort by Farmer City, IL is really good also, however quite expensive and sometimes needs booked well in advance.

None better than Dr Brunk at Equine Associates in Grand Island, NE. Reasonable rates as well.

Dr. Mez at Sturgis Equine in Sturgis, SD. Will give you an honest answer and has a team of vets there that he is not afraid to consult with if he is questioning something.
ETA: Come back and tell us who you go to and keep us updated on the diagnosis!

I have not personally used him, but a lot of my friends use and love Dr. Tony Hicks in Paducah, KY.

I have heard nothing but great things about Dr Brunk! Lots of people travel down to him from up here. If I ever have a lameness problem, he will be my go to!

I pull international paperwork and head to Canada. Dr. Chris Bell at Elders Equine in Winnipeg, Manitoba is fantastic.

I use Dr Hicks and love him. I have also recently been using Dr Greg Ford a lot. He travels to a lot of the big barrels races I have been at lately.

Keith Wagner by far the best lameness vet I have gone to. I have had two extreme cases over the last 2 years that I don't think anyone else could have helped me with without 5 visits and process of elimination. He spends about 20 minutes waiting your horse move, asking questions and feeling them from head to toe and then he steps back and tells you what he sees I wrong and how he is going to fix it. AMAZING guy that has helped me so so much!
He is located in Raymore Mo but he makes monthly visits to Iowa as well!
