Location: Wisconsin | So I have a horse that's a complete mystery to me. He has been seen by multiple vets from WI to TX. No one can pinpoint anything. So what he does is very randomly, barrel pattern, roping or trail ride he will like stop freeze up then not buck but flail around almost. But anyways today I run him twice, first run was in the morning when it was cooler and it was awesome he worked his little tail off. Second run he freaked out coming out of his first. The temp had gotten up there and he was sweating just standing in the shade before I got on him for his second run. So what I'm getting at is HS anyone had a horse that had some sort of issue with horses not working if they get body temp hot?
Had him blood tested for several things, tried lasix (never scoped) been lameness check and has hocks done he walks in the gate head down every time. |

| Check for ulcers. And EPM could also be a possibility. |

| This is a total long shot, but have you had his ears looked at? We had a really nice all around mare do this when I was a kid. It was just randomly stop, freeze and then spin like crazy. We took her to the vet and he looked her over, no lameness, no body soreness. He looked on her ears, messed with them and told us she had equilibrium problems. He said he believed she had suffered a HARD blow to her head and that this was from an old injury. |

Location: on the fine line between insanity and geniusness | I had one with seizures that had kind of the same symptoms. I would investigate that and possibly blood worms. They can make them do some really strange things too. |

Location: Wisconsin | I haven't tested or blood worms that's something I'll have to try. How did you figure out your one had seizures? And as for a head injury he has almost never had a nick on him and as a colt he was never like this. It was like someone flipped a switch. |

| This mare didn't have any marks on her. In the 40+ years I've had horses, that was the only time we have had this experience, so it probably isn't your horse's problem, it just sounded a lot like our experience. One time she was running a killer set of poles at a show and at the last pole she just stopped and froze, I couldn't get her to move. When she did move, she spun, like a reiner, 3 or 4 times and I got off and she wobbled out of the arena. After that is when we got the diagnosis and we quit riding her. |

| Pssm, maybe? How does he do if you warm him up first? He might have stiff more than he was hot. |

symptoms esp if racebred point to more P2 , you could try diets tho as frankly think it is healthier . P1 - low NSC , no rich grass, fat added. . Type 2 or others hi protein , mag, aminos-
