It wasn't me personally but, a boarding horse was originally thought to have cushings and turns out it was EMS. mare was put on Tribute essential K and only got 1 pound am and pm, turn out was extremly limited to a dry lot and also had to have a grazing muzzle if she was on grass. Shes happy and healthy with this! But i know not all cases are the same, Good luck!

We have a mare with it now. We feed the Purina Well Solve Low Starch, about half of a quart scoop 2x a day. She gets about 10 lbs of coastal/bermuda hay twice a day. She goes out with the other horses wearing a grazing muzzle. We watch her feet for any signs of laminitis
(she has only had one episode and it was very minor thankfully
). There is a facebook group to discuss management too. It's in the UK but still lots of people to talk to about the different forms of management.

I feed 2 lbs alfalfa cubes twice a day, with 8 lb Timothy/ orchard grass hay in a slow feeder, twice a day. She gets no grain, and basically only gets the cubes to mix in her isoxsuprine and horse guard
(trifecta
) vitamins and minerals. She's on stall/ paddock rest. This has worked for us since April and we have about 1" of new hoof growth! She's a big, heavily muscled mare that needed to lose weight. She's lost about 75 lbs so far but ill probably have to adjust during winter.
I weigh everything too.
