Location: Illinois | Some of you may know a man named Curt Hagey from the midwest, recently relocated to Texas. On October 9th a colt flipped over on him, causing significant damage to his abdomen. He is still not out of the woods and is undergoing his 6th surgery tomorrow to repair the damage, with more surgeries still being a possibility. I know most in the Midwest know who Curt is and know the family, they've been a big part of my community for a long time. They're people who have helped me tremendously over the years and people I consider family in the barrel world. Curt has a long road ahead of him still and the family can use all the support and prayers they can get right now. Please pray for him and his family during this time. Also, if you're a friend or just want to help, the family has created a gofundme account for help with the mountain of medical bills they are going to be faced with. Here is the link if you wish to donate, any help is appreciated :)

| Curt and Polly are some of the nicest people you'd ever meet, as are their daughters. They aren't able to close his abdomen at this time because of the damage and the continued surgeries that have to happen to see if what they have done so far is working. So far, every time they've gone back in, they've found more damage, and for the next one, they said they may have to remove parts of his intestine. He is has been in ICU since this started plus 6 surgeries, maybe more, so I'm sure the costs are astronomical.
Please pray and if you can donate. |

Was it the saddle horn that did so much damage, I wonder? |

Location: MO | Curt and Polly are so nice and they are your friend from the moment you say hi. I don't think they ever forget a face and would ever refuse anyone help. Just the best people. I didn't realize that they had relocated. Wanted to add he is a self employed farrier, so this is going to really hurt more than just physically.
So many prayers |

| Chandler's Mom - 2017-10-18 10:30 PM How did surgery go?
From Carly's FB post Thank you once again to everyone who has been keeping up with our posts, and diligently praying for my dad. He came out of surgery today for the sixth time and it looks like he will still need to go back for more. The doctors found another weak spot in his intestines near where the last two surgeries have called for repairs. They believe that he is allergic to the sutures they have been using. If that is the case, they have switched to a synthetic suture and hopefully that will keep them from having to repair the same area once again. They were also able to close his incision a little bit more today. The area they are focused on, does not require a large opening. He has been able to get up and walk around, but they have decided to also start him on breathing treatments to make sure he does not develop pneumonia. His pain management is back under control, he is on a blood booster and the highest nutrient count they can give him through an IV. The areas that they have fixed in his earlier surgeries look like they are healing well. Not the news we hoped for today but we still have faith that God‘s healing hands are working. The doctors will go back in on Friday morning for his seventh surgery. |
