Location: Missouri | Got kicked for the first time ever this morning. Nailed in the lower calf and took me off my feet. Was closing a gate, grabbed it and landed pretty gently on my butt. Stood up, light headed and tried not to puke. Took me 10 minutes before I had the courage to try to put weight on it. I mapped out my exit as I stood there. What I could hang on to and use as support to get to my car and phone.
Nothing broken, just sore and bruised and stiff. I'm thankful my back was turned because if I'd gotten it in the shin, I'm sure I'd be in a cast and I would have puked, multiple times, lol. After all the years of hitting barrels my shins are sooooooo sensitive, lol. I would of died. |

Location: Pacific Northwest | I was mounted on my horse standing next a friend's tied horse. As she got on her other horse and we both started to walk away her horse that was tied (who has hauled with the horse I was on many many times) double-barrel kicked at my horse and nailed me just to the right of my lower shin. I think the only reason it didn't break is because he didn't have shoes on. But that was 7 years ago and there's still a dent in my leg, I have no feeling on the skin around the dent, and I have really poor circulation in that foot
I also once had a horse trot by me in the warm up ( was just walking) and the horse kicked at my horse and hit the bottom of my boot, which for some reason didn't hurt at all lol but After both of those incidents, I was very jumpy every time another horse passed me or swung their butt to me.
Hope you feel better soon!

Location: The best kept secret in TX | Glad to hear nothing is broken! Google Doterra Deep Blue Rub. You can get a box of trials or a few trials very cheap. It's worth it for bruises. Makes them feel much better. I use the oil on the horses after an adjustment and the lotion on myself after an adjustment. You'll like it. and like I said the lotion in trial size packets is very cheap. |

Location: LA Lower Alabama | I was feeding a herd in a large pasture. Last horse was bottom of the herd so I always fed him last. As I walk away I feel him cup my butt like you would expect from your husband. Nice little horse shoe print |

Location: Oklahoma | Oh yes. I was on the blind side (literally) of a horse that was blind in one eye, feeding. He nailed me in the upper thigh so hard that you could see the outline of a horseshoe with even the horseshoe nails showing up. Looked like a really nice tattoo. |

| Yep, got nailed in the ribcage this summer. Horses were trotting out of the run and I was jogging down behind them to close the gate. Did not see the one in front of me get cut off and slam on the brakes. I did not slam on my brakes. Luckily he just grazed me but I havenβt had the wind knocked out of me like that in a loooooong time.
I am a lot more thoughtful of my movements now, lll just say that. |

Location: Arkansas | My ex husband got kicked by a mare we were keeping for someone when Katrina hit their area; she wheeled around as he turned her loose and caught him REALLY high on the inside of his thigh. . . I was so glad we already had Chandler----cause I was worried his child making days were over |

| I can’t either, loading a 13 hand pony I have only had a couple of weeks. He loaded great the first couple of times taking him somewhere, the third time was the charm, he did not want to get in the trailer. I worked wth him some, still refusing and since he had loaded easily before I went the route he just is being a stubborn pony. My daughter had the lead rope and I popped him on the rear and he kicked me right in the chest, knocked me down and kicked the breath out of me. Stupid on my part since we don’t really know him. After I was able to breath again I used for a butt rope and he got right in. |

Location: Missouri | Must be that time of the year or something. Getting kicked in the chest and knocking the wind out sounds scary. A friend of mine took 1 to the ribs and jaw a few weeks ago. She got lucky nothing was broken. My daughter said she was going to get an alert button for me to wear, lol. I told her good lord I'm not that old, lol |

I got a pretty good bruise and sore ribs. I was taking him to a race to see how he would behave before starting lead line with my grandson. I rode him bareback, put him in all kinds of situations, in front of the tractor, horses being schooled on, whipped, running out past the alley and he was the perfect dead head or he would have been sent down the road. |

It was not fun. I knew pretty quick nothing was broken, however he got half on my ribs and half below. The next morning I was feeling kind of punky, couldnβt get my breakfast to settle and just meh. I opted to go to the ER for X-rays and a cat scan to check for internal bleeding. Thankfully there was none.
I got out of the ER just in time to make it to afternoon slack for the only rodeo I pulled a check at this summer - maybe I ride better sored up??? |
