So my new saddle is on the longer side and it barely fits on my 30x30 ¾ par with an inch to spare. When I saddle up my horse everything is good in the beginning, not even rolling when I climb up, but my the end of the ride the back of the saddle and pad have shimmied back to my horses point of hip. My husband just said I need to cinch up a little tighter but I figured if my saddle isn't rolling then it shouldn't need to be tightened anymore. Would a thinner pad help? Or maybe I just need to buy a smaller lengthed saddle?

Are you using a breast collar? If not, I would try that.

Yes I am. To be fair, the saddle is sliding back only 3 inches but he has a fairly short back.
I tightened my cinch up more and that helped slightly but oh well. I guess if it's not crazy then there's nothing really to worry about.

When I used to ride in treeless saddles the ONLY pad that ever worked to prevent rolling/sliding was a SaddleRight pad
