BEWARE: Anyone else seeing this all over their social media the last couple days? Basically, you put $100 into this scheme through paypal and you get more people to join and they put $100 in and once all of the "levels" get filled the person in the middle level gets all of the combined total ($800) and they fall off the spot and everyone moves up one level, the more people who join the faster you move up to get the $800. THIS is a perfect example of a pyramid scheme!!! AND is ILLEGAL in every state ..... there will ALWAYS be a loser in this "money scheme" when people are no longer entering it !!!!
I can NOT believe the number of people SUCKING their family and friends in only to make their money.....wake up folks...if you are at the bottom getting in you are padding their pockets and you will LOSE money! Additionally, one person has posted that the scheme has been reported to the FCC.... |

Pyramid schemes and multilevel marketing schemes shouldn’t be that hard to recognize.

| Wow... can't believe people would actually fall for something like that. I can't stand pyramid schemes... I'm always leary when a friend or family member joins up on one of those companies and try to get me to try their products. Like thrive or advocare, I was recently hit up by a friend I hadn't spoken to in ages sending me tons of information and samples of some juice pills and powders... just rubs me wrong and leaves a bad taste in my mouth... (not the pills or powders lol) just the situation. No thanks... |

No comparison, a 4D is like gambling or a lottery, if your time is the lucky time, has no dependency on others continuing to participate. This is a pyramid scam that falls apart as soon as participants quit contributing. |

Location: MN | I almost got sucked into this because, you know, $700 bucks sounds great! Sure some people made their money in 3 hours or so. Out of curiosity I stayed in the group I was added to....no one is joining now. Quite a few people have been jipped and wont get their $700. I knew it was illegal from the get go, which was the main reason why I kept my nose out of it. |

Agree, no comparison. The big thing with pyramid schemes is they focus on recruitment of people to funnel money to the few people at the top who get paid but they give no return at all. 4D jackpots and gambling actually deliver something: recreation or entertainment. People know going in there is a pretty good chance they won't win their money back (unless they just have that great consistent 1D horse) but still expect to have a good time. A pyramid scheme makes false promises to the people joining up, attempting to guarantee that everyone is going to make big money when only a very few will. It is this misrepresentation of the situation and the fact that people get cheated out of money (as versus volunteering it for the chance to win and knowing you will still have a good time) that makes it much different, unethical, and illegal.

Perfectly Said- In addition to the points made - Barrel races give the same chance of winning to all who enter, reguardless of wether you were the first or last to enter I just cant imagine being OK with KNOWING that Im only profiting off of someone getting duped. |

My point is that it is a gamble just like you are gambling your entry fees for a lucky time or clean run. Not saying it is the exact same thing on every level but both are a gamble. Not a scam |

Define ethics. Also define morality please. In regards to your views on a Ponzi or Pyramid Scam. |

No, it is not presented as a gamble, it is presented as pay in $100 and your return will be $700. It is a new chapter of an unethical pyramid scheme that is dependent on participants keeping it going but always dies out with very few receiving the promised benefits. I guarantee this one won’t be around but a week or two. This is nothing new and if it really worked there would not need to be new versions. |
