Long story short... we are a cattle working family and everyone uses dogs. I have retired our two best ones to be yards muts. One is 16 and one is now 19 (astronomical for big, yellow black mouth curs!) earl, my 19 year old has been my ever constant companion for the last 6 years! Granted- age has taken its toll on him, until this week he was in very good health for a boy his age. I’m guessing this cold is taking a heavy toll on him however, because the last few days have been pretty rough. He’s currently in my living room floor covered up with a back on track blanket. I’m clinging to hope that the 60 degree days in this weeks forcast will help his old bones, because I’m far from ready to say goodbye to my boy. It’s been a tough year for my family, we lost my dad, a very close family friend, and two horses... all since last February. I’m prepared to do what has to be done to keep him from suffering- I just really don’t want to think about it yet.

Thank y’all. His appetite is great. He has eaten an entire package of hot dog weenies this morning and about a dozen animal crackers that Brody has hand fed him! He is bright and alert... I’m hoping the BOT helps him today.

He actually felt like going outside!! I had to help him to his feet, but he went out and used the restroom and stretched out in the sun. Praise the lord!! Thank y’all so much for keeping both him and me in yalls thoughts today! I’ll probably bring him back in tonight.

I will keep both of you in my prayers. My 80lb rescue hound mix is my WHOLE world. He is almost 9, and has had two ACL surgery's, 2 stomach surgery's, and has arthritis. We have had temps in the -20's to -40's past two weeks, and he has struggled going to the bathroom outside. I have been giving him Springtime Inc Advanced Hip and Joint supplements for a few years, and he will never be without them. They have made him so comfortable with his arthritis. It's an all natural company. I also give him once a week Adequan injections. https://www.springtimeinc.com/product/advanced-hip-and-joint-chewabl...
Just something to keep in mind. Last year I ran out and he was without them for a few days and I could see the difference big time!
The reviews on their website are amazing!

Thank you for this!! I gave him an aspirin this morning, but would rather put him on something natural if it was going to have to be a daily thing! He was barking at the puppy tonight!

Your welcome! I know 110% these supplements work! The nice thing about them is that you can double the dose, or triple the dose, if it's extra cold out, or if he played too hard with another dog, or if he's just stiffer than normal one day you can bump up the dose and it's all natural so you don't have anything to worry about. They are so easy to feed, chewable tablets.

Holy crap!! Best update EVER!!! The back on track and a day of R&R did the trick!! He is back to his old cantankerous self! He’s gone with Ricky to feed the last few days, can come up the stairs to the porch by himself again.... almost like a young dude!!! I’m telling you, he’s the toughest sucker I’ve ever seen! SOOO I think God got his cattle penned this week and decided he didn’t need Earl!! It’s about right- my dad goes to pen God’s cattle and tries to steal MY good dog!! No different than when he was still alive- he loves Earl dog!! He’s just not ready to go there yet!

That's so great to hear he's doing better!!!! Might still be a good idea to start him on a joint supplement..
