I've never done either of these therapies before but considering them for my gelding this summer, instead of the typical ol' injections with steriods. He has heel pain in both front feet. So far, no bony changes seen on x-rays but he is due for new ones this year.

So I am just curious to those who have used either of these therapies, what you used them for, and if they seemed to help?

Do it. I've done both well worth the money! Great success

I had great results with IRAP on my colts ankle.  We will probably do it once a year as a preventative since he has a chronic problem.
He hasn't needed to be injected since we did the first injection in April.

I have a mare that has severe arthritis in her knee.  I did IRAP this fall on her, so far with sucess.  I haven't made many runs on her since, but the vet seemed to be very happy with what he was seeing.

Interesting.  Who (Vet)  are you thinking of using for this therapy?

We have used IRAP with success for hocks and stifles. I consider it a good alternative to injections. When paired with an occasional steroid injection, it is more effective.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I'm leaning towards trying it, because I guess I have nothing to lose anyway! (except money, right?) So it's encouraging to hear success stories.
