I am looking for an all around vitamin/ mineral supplement to add to a plain feed that does not have any vitamins or minerals added to it. I don't want something that breaks the bank, but I know whats on the label is not always whats in the product. Here are my thoughts:
Liquid 747
(have used before
)
SmartLic Horse Licks
(have used before- not sure about what the $ comes out to though
)
Manna Pro Sho-Glo
ETA just looked at Megacell by MVP and it looks promising for $0.25/day
Also adding THE Performance??

Out of those options I would go with Sho-Glo after looking them up and comparing, personally.

That one has a few more fillers in it from what I see. It also depends on what your forage is giving your horses and what is deficient in your area. I personally have redmonds loose salt available for my horses free choice and a lick tub made by equipride out for them. Our hay tested not that good this year. I haven't done these two things before because normally our hay is a bit better. My mare uses the lick tube alot and my older gelding goes after the redmonds. That is why I keep out both.
ETA: Both my horses only get oats for grain with some flax. Just enough to get their supplements.

707 daily essentials is excellent and very very affordable. Gives them everything they need in a 1oz scoop. Easy peasy.

707 daily essentials is a good one and the one I would use if I couldn't get BioStar Optimum anymore. But the BioStar is a whole food supplement and my horse's winter coat is full, but oh so soft! He is calm and cool and is so much more supple in his body than he has been in a loooong time.

MVP Mega-Cell or Mega-Mag; depending on what hay you are feeding. MVP supplements carry the NASC seal, which means you are getting exactly what is printed on the label. No guessing game!

We feed the regular Platinum at a rate of 1 scoop/day. It is 89c/scoop if you buy the smallest size based on the website pricing. Our local dealer does a bit better on pricing and we buy in bulk which saves us a considerable amount.

Agreed. We have been using Platinum for years and I feel like it's the best all around supplement out there.

I used Platinum for a long time and switched to Thunder Mountain Minerals, and I am even happier with it than I was on PlatinumβI was a hardcore Platinum fan too.

I just ordered the new Platinum GI to try on one of mine. I hope it will help keep things in working order as she gets hauled a lot this year.

I have fed the Sho Glo before and I think it is absolutely the best supplement for the price.
I saw noticeable results within about a week. When I ran out of it, I noticed a difference right away.

I LOVE MVP Megacell. I have been feeding it for years and don't plan on changing any time soon. And you can't beat the price.

THE Performance is 75 cents a day on the 80 scoop bag and 67 cents on a 160 scoops. 240 scoops brings it down to 60 cents a day
(shipping included in those quotes
) and has the best quality ingredients available.
