Location: midwest mama | I found a living quarters trailer I really like but it is a 2 horse. I have 2 horses - sometimes I only haul one and sometimes I haul both. This one has an 8.6' LQ, is an 8 wide and has mangers for storage.
I want to stay as small as possible but still be functional so what are the pros and cons of a 2 horse versus a 3 horse?
TIA |

| Ive seen a few nice ones! Only con I could see is you lose that little bit of room to haul hay and supplies in the LQ area. And you never know, you just might want that 3rd horse someday. |

Location: Texas | I use my stud stall for storage of buckets, camping essentials, etc. But I think if I were more organized, the mangers would work for that. |

| I would definitely buy a 3 horse with a stud wall just for the storage it provides. My daughter had a 3 horse with 8’ lq, it was perfect and easy to pull and park anywhere. |

I agree. I have a 3H with an 8β LQ and it is super handy. I can get it in/around/parked/through anything lol. Also, just from scanning For sale ads in the past, 2H LQβs donβt seem to sell well. Just a thought in case youβre ever needing to upgrade in the future. |

| I would LOVE to have one but they are super hard to find. I've always had 3 horse trailers - can't seem to sell the one I have that way EITHER. |

This, BUT if it truly is all you need and you can work around the storage issue - using the bed of the truck or utilizing a hay rack you can get a smoking deal on one because of the resale being less attractive. |

Location: Texas | I am in the same situation, and something to think about (aside from the resale challenge) is that the difference in price between in a 2H and a 3H is very minimal (when buying new). I know because I just looked at a 2H & 3H, and ended up buying the 3H, with stud divider. I am very happy with my decision. (6' LQ) |

Location: Ohio girl moved to PA | always go for the extra stall. I have 2 horses and went for the 3H and wish i would have gotten a 4H. simply because i dont have mangers, and i cant put everything up front in the LQs, so having that extra room is SO nice. especially when i haul a 3rd horse, its so hard to try and squeeze everything in the rear tack. |

| I was in this predicament a year ago. I went with the 3H, 6.5 ft LQ. I don't have mangers, so I needed the extra storage and glad I have it. It is still very manageable to pull, park, etc... |

Location: Jersey Girl | I have always steered away from a 2h because I think they are hard to resell. Also if haul 2 horses you don't have any room for storage. |

| We have a three horse and the front stall has a stud divider and there's mangers. We use the front stall to store hay, grain, chairs, an extra water tank, etc. We hauled three horses for a summer and we had to find a different spot for all of that stuff and it was a pain. It is always nice to have an extra stall, in my opinion. Ours is a Platinum 3 horse with a 9.5' lq and it's the perfect size for two people. |

Location: Cocoa, Florida | I have a two horse straight load with a dressing room and huge bed area. I have a square nose, no cabinets or anything so I can have a king size bed, my boyfriend and I donβt even touch and can sprawl out. I actually like the straight load, you can fit a Clydesdale in my stalls. I wouldnβt recommend having more then 2 people because the dressing room is so small and I have 2 saddle racks in there but it works for us. Itβs only 4000lbs and my Chevy 1500 pulls it fine as long as youβre not going over 70 when itβs loaded down. I will get a larger truck next for sure but for now it works perfect. Iβm only hauling 1 horse right now also.
Edit: mine is an all aluminum sundowner 1999, got a heck of a deal and it was very well taken care of. I use my other stall for hay, can fit the atv also.
The best two horse goosenecks are HARTS hands down

Location: Golden Gulf Coast of Texas | I had one. Two horse Platinum with 8βSW had mangers also. I had plenty of room for storage. Loved it and will probably buy another but with 10 ft SW. Took a little longer to sell but not much. I usually only hauled one though. |
